About Me

Hi, my name is Sally Monn. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Montana with almost 10 years of experience working in the Mental Health field. My master’s in social work is from the Billings, Montana campus of Walla Walla University in 2012. My client concerns include depression, anxiety, trauma, suicide ideation, grief, body image, parenting problems, career change and ADHD issues. I worked for eight years in schools in underserved areas of Montana (Shelby, White Sulphur Springs and Hardin). The last three years in Hardin were dedicated to teens at Hardin High School, ages 13 to 19.

It takes a lot of courage to work on personal issues to make the decision to work on our problems and follow it through by talking with a professional counselor. I will listen to whatever your teen wants to talk about with an unbiased and open-minded approach. As adults we know that our problems are often complicated by many underlying issues and as teens have a limited amount of life skills to support their healing we can understand how difficult trauma can be for them. It is important to take the time to develop a sense of rapport and connection to help teens feel safe and comfortable during therapy. This allows us to get into deeper issues and confront problematic beliefs and attitudes during the healing process. People have told me I am a good listener, caring, sensitive, and positive.

Three different types of therapy are combined in my sessions to meet each person’s needs. Person centered, cognitive behavioral and solution-focused approaches are used with a warm, positive and compassionate style. I strive to help teens remember their strengths, consider where behaviors may come from and help them find goals and objectives important for their healing and a more well-adjusted future. We will work at a pace that helps your teen feel comfortable.

As we work toward healing it is very important for your child to be patient with him or herself. Everyone heals at a different pace, and it sometimes feels that things are moving in the wrong direction. Sometimes we need to try different approaches and step outside our area of comfort to find the right path. It is important for them to be patient as they work toward healing, and I’ll help them stay the course.

Thank you for reading my profile and I look forward to working with your teen!

Sally is GREAT! Within just the few sessions we have begun she has provided me with useful worksheets and tools that feel catered to my personal journey. Most importantly if I have questions or thoughts in between sessions she responds very promptly and that means a lot to me.

I LOVE Sally Monn! From our very first meeting I felt listened to and cared for. She is a true active listener with a visible passion for helping individuals grow. Would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking growth, self-realization, healing, or anything in between!

Sally is a very lovely, welcoming and warm person. I have never seen a therapist before and she made me feel very comfortable and able to open up and be honest. She helped me immensely and I feel like I can handle what life throws at me now. Sally is very easy to talk to. I recommend her if you are dealing with self doubt, depression or anxiety.

You have been a very patient, and very eager to learn person that I am confident I can continue to put my trust and life into, and work well with each time.
