About me

Being a teenager can be challenging! You find yourself at the crossroads of childhood and adulthood, often desiring to be in both. Likewise, you have to deal with a variety of different issues as you seek to understand and define who you are as an individual. I believe that the narratives we live with and tell ourselves are significantly shaped and reinforced during this time. Those narratives will dramatically determine how we experience life and express ourselves in the present and the future. My passion is to meet clients in that space of their narrative and help them move towards their goals in an effective and caring way utilizing a client-centered approach and the latest in relevant clinical research.

I also have an extensive sports background. I was a four-sport athlete in high school and competed as an NCAA Division II scholarship student-athlete in basketball. I understand the toll that sports can have on an athlete's mental health because of the pressure to perform academically and athletically.

I have worked with teenagers for over 20 years in many different contexts. I have an MA in clinical mental health counseling. I am an LPC in Wisconsin and an NCC and am working on several trauma certifications.

Ryan has been incredibly helpful in guiding me to release stress and relinquish control over things that I do not have control of in life. He has been compassionate and flexible and understanding when I had to switch appointment times due to my highly uncertain schedule. I wish to be paired with him again should I need counselling again!
Thank you Ryan, for everything!

I'm pleased that I was matched with Ryan. He responded to my messages in a timely manner with empathy. He also provided helpful materials and guidance that was tailored to what I was going through. Even with the asynchronous communication of my texting and his voice messages, we were able to have a personal, effective conversation. He's both kind and helpful.
