Ryan Bullard

About Me

I have worked with individuals across the life span, with a primary focus on working with adolescents and young adults. I have experience working with both developmentally normal challenges as well as more complex behavioral concerns related to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, disruptive behaviors, substance use, and trauma. Recognizing that adolescence is a stage of pivotal change, my area of expertise is in working with adolescents as they move through school and into young adulthood.
I work with youth to develop a sense of personal strength and capacity to set and achieve goals. I work with the youth and their family (when necessary) to understand the basis of their current challenge and collaborate to develop resources and skills that are developmentally appropriate for a successful resolution.
I approach counseling from a strength-based perspective using cognitive-behavioral therapy and play therapy for younger clients. If you are having difficulty coping with life's problems, or experiencing a sense of unhappiness, choosing counseling is a brave choice.
I consider myself to be a "real" therapist and I am able to build strong and trusting relationships with young people, specifically those who "don't want therapy". I offer a lot of validation, reflection, and listening and support young people in coming up with their own conclusions.

My experience with Ryan Bullard has been extremely pleasant. He is understanding, considerate and supportive. He has successfully navigated through the cultural differences between the two of us and given me advice that has helped me a lot. Sessions with him are casual, comfortable and it feels like you are talking to someone who knows you. I recommend Ryan to everyone and especially to people like who are anxious and doubtful about opening up.

Absolutely love working with him. He listens, gives amazing advice and really helps me if I’m in a rough place.

Ryan is thoughtful and non-judgemental. He listens to your issues and really looks at different ways of addressing them and has a genuine interest in helping his clients!

I sought counseling for my almost 17 yo son to help with anger mgmt/emotional control and overall complicated family & life issues. I noticed a change within a week. My son is not someone who opens up easily but he has responded very well to Ryan and his advice. He now schedules his own sessions without prompting and is even starting to talk to me about some of the behavioral methods he's learning. Of note, we've had an in-person family therapist for 5 years but I've seen more progress in the one month with Ryan. Well worth it and one of the best decisions I've made.
