Hello and Welcome. I am so glad you are here. Need someone to talk to? I am here for you.
Adolescence is a painful time for most people. Teens are no longer little children but not yet adults either. As a teen tries to discover who he or she is, it can be a painful time for both parents and children. Some teens cope by rebelling against their parents or at least distancing themselves.
My goal is to help teens to have healthy coping mechanisms for these intense feelings. By finding alternative ways to deal with stress, pain, loss, and anger, anxiety, depression, self-esteem difficulties, abuse, trauma, friendship/ relationship issues, PTSD, emotional distress, life phases, racial & cultural issues, and school-related concerns. When teens feel supported and understood, it can avoid self-destructive behaviors that are common during this period.
My Name is Rubina Dhani, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have over 7 years of experience in working in a variety of settings and with children, teens, and families. I am a warm, compassionate, empathic therapist, who accepts clients where they are at, without any judgment. I approach counseling with different approaches depending on each of my client's needs and strengths. Therapeutically, my approaches stem from a Strength-Based & Cognitive Behavioral view (CBT), utilizing evidence-based practice Managing & Adapting Practices (MAP) and Mindfulness techniques, and which patients have thanked me for helping them to see negative thoughts and behavioral patterns that had previously been causing them issues. I am a firm believer that the mind is a very powerful tool. If a person can change the way they view a situation in their mind, they can potentially change the outcome of their situation. I am dedicated to nurturing a safe environment and working with individuals to develop customized plans to improve their quality of life.

She is very good. My daughter connected and felt comfortable with her after the first session itself. She felt at ease to talk to her about her issues.
