Hi! My name is Robin Carver. I have been a licensed clinical social worker, LCSW since 2002. I come to this position with varied professional experiences. I completed an internship at a domestic violence shelter, provided intensive, in-home counseling to families for 1.5 years, worked on a mental health unit at a local hospital providing discharge planning, group work and conducted suicide assessments for 6 years. I spent 4.5 years working in a Therapeutic Day Treatment Program at both a middle school and elementary school (5 yo-18 yo), in which I offered a minimum of one hour of therapeutic intervention and support to children/adolescents, on a daily basis. I was in a supervisory role for the TDT Program and a School Based Outpatient Counseling Program for the last 11 years, supervising clinicians in these positions and providing supervision for their LPS/LCSW licensure. I also supervised an Intensive Care Coordination program, one of the most intensive therapeutic services available for youth, for the last 2 years. These numerous experiences have helped me to grow in my professional development immensely as well as provide me with varied opportunities to develop and strengthen my clinical skills. I currently began conducting therapy myself again this year. I am passionate about working with children and older youth and have experience working with emotion regulation, impulsivity issues/ADHD, anger management, grief, mood disorders, personal/social boundary issues, trauma/PTSD, suicidal ideation/self-harm/crisis stabilization, self-esteem issues, depression/anxiety, school/peer issues, time management and building on youth strengths and resilience to help them overcome life difficulties. I feel that building a strong and trusting relationship is the foundation to a successful therapeutic experience. Hence, that is the focus of my work with youth, finding a way to join with them where they are in life. Being warm, kind, accepting, non-judgmental, listening and reflecting are core principles in my work with children/adolescents. Once a trusting relationship has been established, I begin the work of teaching children/adolescent skills to help them navigate their relationships/behaviors at home, school and in the community. I have I find it extremely rewarding to help young people identify their strengths and values, teach them coping skills to assist them in overcoming challenging situations in a positive way and being there for them in times of need. Sometimes, they just need a person that they can trust, someone who will listen to them, someone to be with them in their most difficult moments. I am humbled to have this opportunity and cherish each and every young person with whom I have the opportunity to work. Each child/adolescent is unique, strong and resilient and I enjoy being able to walk beside them in their journey of self-growth. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with your child!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Robin Carver. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Robin has been wonderful in our sessions so far. She has been intuitive to my concerns, attentive, and flexible. I find myself looking forward to our sessions and feel far more content and peaceful afterwards. I can’t ask for much more than that in just the few sessions we’ve had so far!
Robin goes above and beyond. She checks in, she makes sure there is no confusion with anything and is kind and genuinely caring. She has been great a great communicator and has accommodated us even when it was outside of her normal hours. Just great all around!
