Hello I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and have been working with high risk youth and families for the past 10 years. I have had more than what others have had in their career in that I love what I do. Working within the community to assist with supporting parents, children and teens has has been such a rewarding gift for me. I have been able to working mental health systems assisting foster youth achieve their goals in independence and growth, worked within the juvenile justice programs to assist in reducing recidivism , failed probation, mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, Defiance disorders, self harming behaviors etc which have lead to family conflict, truancy and engaging in high risk behaviors. Being able to reduce barriers, judgements and conflict I have helped teens and families reach their goals on reaching a better understanding between caregiver and teen, communicating in a healthier manner, and reducing current risk factors and symptoms.
To get a better idea of my background I'll share about myself. I graduated with a double Bachelors degree in Psychology and Child, Adolescent and Family studies. I went on to pursue a Masters degree, in Counseling Psychology and then began my career working in the county Children's System of Care which I have done for 10 years. I am passionate about helping families reach happiness and contentment in their daily lives.
My therapeutic style is to be engaging, empathetic along with allowing your teen to learn to trust that "I'm not like every other adult I'm not here to lecture, discipline or "snitch" but rather a person who listens, validates all while shifting your teens mindset to work in collaboration with you as the parent and/or caregiver. My non judgmental approach helps your teen to feel understood, heard, and secure which allows them to feel comfortable to share their most intimate concerns and worries. I utilize various evidence based modalities such as Family Structural Therapeutic approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, , Dialectic Behavioral Like therapy, Solution Focused and Humanistic approaches to assist your teen and family in reaching your therapeutic goals.
Just remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you know. By giving yourself grace you will be able to move forward and grow. If your ready to see what your future has to offer and take this next step I am here to support and empower you.
I am excited to be apart of your journey!

Rachelle us very professional, supportive and I trust her expertise.
I’m only a few sessions in with Rachelle but so far she has been very kind and compassionate and I feel that she understands what I’m trying to say even when I’m not expressing myself very clearly.
