About Me

My name is Nicole Sommersville and I am a wife, mommy, Air Force veteran, and Marriage and Family Therapist. I have over 7 years of experience working with diverse clients of different backgrounds, lifestyles, and stages of life. I have worked in children crisis units and provided individual and family therapy to adolescents struggling with behavioral issues, family conflicts, trauma, and life transitions.
My therapeutic and personal styles are casual enough to counter an authoritative tone that could limit adolescent transparency; yet, mature enough to maintain professional boundaries and earn and maintain their respect and trust. While treating the presenting issue, I will strive to instill the coping skills and tools necessary to build upon their existing resiliency.
I have adopted a blended approach of Bowenian and Alderian theories as a foundation of my practice, and I employ cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused techniques, motivational interviewing, and reflective listening skills as primary tools for treatment.
While I can't guarantee that I can help you turn your "lemons into lemonade" I will be there to help you accept the lemon for what it is and explore the many options you have with the lemon.
Thank you for looking at my profile, I look forward to meeting you.

I have had more progress with Nicole in a short few months than I’ve had in years previously! I already feel like a better version of myself.

Nicole is getting a handle on our teenager's demons in ways we couldn't. I don't know how because I believe in staying 'hands off' with the kids' counseling as much as possible but I do know that realizing as parents that we aren't adequate-we can't be the sun moon and the stars too- to raise well rounded kids without help. People need people, and the kids need people skills. She is helping our daughter sort that out.

Nicole is very insightful. She always manages to assist me in working thru whatever issues I have going on day to day. She knows exactly what questions to ask me so together we can craft a solution. I am really glad I was connected with her thru teen counseling.

Nicole is personable, timely, and compassionate. I can highly recommend her as a counselor.

She is absolutely lovely and a wonderful therapist. She sticks to her guidelines and keeps things professional, while still able to provide different insights and perspectives for things in my life that she may not even be able to relate to at all. I am very grateful to work with such an amazing woman.
