About Me

It is difficult to figure out how to help your child solve their problems without taking over and solving the problem for them. You may feel better but they have not learned how to prevent or solve future problems for themselves. A healthier approach may be to get them linked with a professional who has a history of 25+ years working with children, teens and young adults who need someone they can open up to and then learn how to think and create healthy solutions for themselves. I have experience working with high school and college aged people who are floundering. Helping them decide who they are and what they want for their future is something that I have done well for many years. I have worked with students who need help to decide their major, learn how to become a successful student and help launch them into adulthood. As a parent and step parent, I have also worked with young adults who are struggling with unhealthy peers or intimate relationships.

My counseling style is interactive, empathetic, and warm. It is my belief that listening is the key to success in a therapeutic relationship and every client that I serve will feel heard. Being treated with dignity, respect and compassion are also the tenets that I abide by and will display that in every interaction and intervention. My approach combines strengths therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy and solution-focused therapy to ensure that the highest level of outcome is achieved as outlined by a treatment plan that will be tailored to your needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you want your child to take that step, I am here to support and empower them. If this is the kind of help you are looking for, please take the first step by contacting me.

Mrs Stauffer, is very kind and guids in a supportive manner. She listens carefully and really tries to understand what you say/feel/experience etc. She is respectfully and insightful. I feel greatful to have her guidance cleaning up some painful old skeletons out of my closet.

I had met with a couple of therapists before meeting Nancy, and right away I felt the difference. She was empathetic but also straight to the point, addressing my concerns right away. She's offered advice but no judgment, and I appreciate the worksheets and assignments, which help me consider the work we did in our meeting throughout the week. I can't recommend her enough.
