About Me

My name is Myron Dianiska, a Licensed Psychological Associate and Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I have over 50 years of experience in the mental health field, and currently operate a private practice in Sugar Land Tx.
My primary work is with adults who are experiencing difficulties with habit disorders (smoking), anxiety, phobias and career choice difficulties. I also work with adolescents, athletes, particularly runners, who want to improve their performance and improve their mental toughness. I have many years of experience working with older children and teens in private practice setting, a residential treatment setting and for the past 26 years in a school setting as well.
Many adolescents and their parents struggle with the process of deciding their postsecondary education, college choice, major choice, often changing their major while in college. It is possible to mitigate that process using an assessment based on Who you are, Why you want to work, Where you want to work and What you want to do.

My approach is based on developing a strong therapeutic relationship, within a cognitive-behavioral model. More recently I have developed an expertise in virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET). This new, exciting technology can be utilized to work with a variety of mental health issues, most notably phobias and anxiety disorders, but also to train individuals in mindfulness and relaxation. Chronic pain sufferers experience relief by using virtual reality. The significant advantage of VRET is that it can be done remotely with the appropriate platform, using only a smart phone and a Google cardboard headset or equivalent. There is no need for office visits.
I completed my MS in clinical psychology at Ohio University in 1972 and my MBA at the University of Houston in 1984. My professional experience includes working in the various sectors of the mental health field, including addiction rehabilitation, residential treatment, state mental hospital, private psychiatric hospitals, private practice, and in schools. I have experience with all ages and all levels of mental health severity.

Myron has been a great counselor for my daughter. She has told me how comfortable she feels with him. Responds in a timely manner and always willing to help my daughter. Thank you Myron!

Myron and I haven’t been working together long but so far very impressed with his expertise. I’ve had issues feeling comfortable with counselors in the past but I feel very comfortable opening up to Myron and he gives me non-biased advice backed my science and research which I love. I’m happy to be working with the counselor and hope time allows me to further engage.

My teenage son has connected easily with Myrin and is reluctantly benefiting from counseling. It is a great option for teens!

He is so patient and understanding. He listens to listen and displays empathy and encouragement. He knows what he's doing. I look forward to our sessions 100% every week. Love it.
