Ever feel like no one understands? That the problems you face are all consuming, with no way out? We all need someone to listen. A nonjudgmental sounding board, who offers support and assurance. Asking for help can seem intimidating or that you can't handle problems on your own. Seeking counseling is actually a sign of strength. It's a step toward improving your mental and emotional well being. To HEAL!
I started out in my career as a school based therapist, working with middle schoolers and high school students. Although, I have transitioned into private practice therapy, this population is one that I continue to work with. In both my past and current roles, I have developed a sense of appreciation and understanding for the needs of youth. Especially, in their challenges with navigating through life’s transitions. I have witnessed great progress from clients confronting their fears, managing peer relations, familial conflict, pain, and unrealistic expectations of the future. My work with this population has been a rewarding challenge.
My name is MeChele Frierson, I am a proud native of Cleveland, Ohio where I obtained my Bachelors of Social Work from Cleveland State University and earned a Masters of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve's MSASS program. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional with more than 10 years' experience as a therapist. I am greatly passionate about working with both youth and adults surviving the impacts of trauma and managing symptoms of depression. However, I also have experience with anxiety, grief, mood disorders, peer relations, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, crisis management/de-escalation, relationship issues, and child abuse/neglect.
As a therapist, my role, is simply to empower and assist you with identifying specific problem areas and formulate goals around those areas through various evidence based practices. I am not here to tell you what to do. I am here to listen, as a support and guide. We are a team! I charge myself with using the same self-care principles that I encourage in clients. My belief is that one’s mental/emotional health and ability to become self-aware are the key essentials to living a more realistic and healthy life. You’ve come to the right place. I am excited to start on this journey of healing with you!

I really love how laid back my sessions are with her. She allows me to think through how I’m feeling and then offers feedback and ways I can best approach situations and move forward. She has been a huge help to me during the past few months.
She is amazing. Professional, understanding, patient, and sympathetic.
