I am currently a licensed Counselor in Montana specializing in mental health issues along with issues dealing with substance abuse and addictions. I have a private practice where I offer services to adults, adolescents, children, and families. I also work as a clinical director in a Department of Corrections setting providing substance abuse and mental health treatment for individuals with Felony DUI's. My expertise is in working with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and also in helping children deal with trauma. Living in rural Montana, I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients with various mental health concerns.
My counseling style is empathetic in nature. I begin by getting to know my client and what will work best for them. The most frequent orientations that I utilize include cognitive-behavioral therapy, person centered, family systems, and mindfulness. I use an eclectic array of techniques that will be determined with the client and then utilized to develop a treatment plan unique to the client's concerns. I am currently offering EMDR sessions as I am working towards certification. EMDR sessions are held weekly and do require video sessions to be held. If you are interested in EMDR session, let me know and we can begin the process of completing the assessment to see if they would be a good fit for your needs.
Counseling is a process that can be very beneficial to help address various aspects of a person's life. I look forward to building a therapeutic relationship where we can work together to meet your needs.

So far my daughter finds her very easy to talk to and now has a more positive outlook on counseling
If you're going through something, big or not big, scary or less scary, old or new, I think working with Mary Geiger will help most people feel better. I felt better and more hopeful after one session, after several sessions now I feel actually stronger. Mary listens, is insightful, actually helps, and has the best worksheets if, like me, you're into worksheets! ❤️
Mary is doing great! She has really helped me out in some tough spots in my life and work out some challenging issues. I feel really lucky to be working with her and would recommend her to anyone!
Very thankful for Mary. In the past month my anxiety and negative thoughts have made a 180 degree turn thanks to her assistance.
Mary is an awesome human. Funny, witty, and empathetic, a joy to chat with.
Mary seems to understand my struggles in life and gives me comfort in believing in my capability to heal myself and my nature.
I was the one who would never consider therapy because I was truly scared of it. I remember reading about, "why is it that there are more therapists (something about per square mile in rich parts of the world) than in other parts of the world" and I now am starting to understand the follies of human nature in which that derives from. As humans pursuing our deliberation people will try to cut you down, lie, show you a fake path, and steal your time - for what - power, money?
teen counseling has helped me find my truest power and spirit and I wish to guide more wisdom. It encourages me to keep going with a stronger light than I have ever had before.
Mary is professional and prompt. She is positive and understanding, never judgmental.
Mary helps me find useful and practical tools to help with the challenges I am facing each week. She is able to relate to my issues and offers feedback and ideas in a gentle and supportive manner.
Mary was responsive and attentive in listening to our concerns. She provided positive feedback along with reading material that helped us understand further in detail what we were working on.
Mary does a goos job of keeping in contact with me but not pushing me. I feel very comfortable talking with her.
Mary is very warm and caring. I never feel judged or pressured during a session. I feel she really listens and gives me tools to work through struggles.
Mary has been patient and helpful. All around she has done a great job.
Speaking with Mary instantly made me feel at ease. I felt like she heard me, and had constructive and positive feedback that helped me to see things in ways I hadn't seen them before. She helped me to better understand the struggles in my life, and afterwards I felt better equipped to take on my daily challenges. Thank you!
So far Mary is wonderful.
I really like the fact that I could talk and talk, and Mary listened patiently. I probably needed to just pull it all out! Thank you, Mary!
She’s everything I never knew I needed in a therapist! I’m thoroughly impressed that this app matched us together! I don’t think I could have found her on my own. She gives me a lot of helpful perspectives that I don’t get from friends or family and I always leave a session feeling more in my power and more present.
Mary is a very empathetic person who made me feel validated and I made good progress with her help. I really enjoyed her responses and the advice she gave me was very competent and really appreciated.
Mary has helped me so far.....
She is extremely responsive and attentive to my son’s needs and how to address issues with him.
Barely replies to texts.
I love Mary, she is empathetic and has lots of advice.
Mary has been a blessing to work with! I am so grateful to have been able to work with her. She was very simplistic and straight to the point, which we appreciated! The workbooks she shared have been wonderful tools in helping us learn to communicate so much better. She is the only counselor I’ve spoken to that has been able to help me understand where I’m coming up short and how best to adjust in my role in the relationship. I can’t recommend her enough! Thank you, Mary! ❤️
Mary really listens to you and presents real solutions to getting you out of your funk.
First session tonight with Mary, and she was wonderful. I had a lot of stuff together out, and she was empathetic, a great listener and really informative and reassuring. I am already booking in my next vis-a-vis session and look forward to working with her over the coming weeks!
