About me
Hi There. My name is Lisa Walton, LCSW. I am licensed in the states of Florida and Tennessee to provide clinical therapy & counseling services. I have over 13 years of clinical counseling experience and 20 years of working with mostly at-risk clients in the social services setting. Most of my experience is with children & youth and at-risk families. I started my career working for state child welfare systems investigating and providing case management for families associated with the state system. I worked 10 years providing intensive therapy services to children & adolescents in a specialized therapeutic group home. I have vast experiences providing crisis management, behavior modification, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and facilitating psycho-education groups on gaining insight & coping skills on specific mental health issues. I worked with children & youth with issues of: suicide ideation & behaviors, trauma, crisis management, self-harm, LGBTQ issues, divorce, abandonment depression, anger, and anxiety.
My approach with children and adolescents is to give ample time to build the therapeutic rapport and establish trust with the youth. I believe that this trust in the therapeutic relationship & process is essential to address underling core issues and promoting change. I typically use narrative, solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and motivational interviewing therapy techniques when working with my clients depending on clinical assessment, client needs, and specific client issues. I have strong professional and ethical standards in maintaining confidentiality of the youth in conversations with parents and guardians. I am flexible with clients’ scheduling needs as I understand that life can be somewhat complicated. I look forward to establishing a warm, empathic, supportive, and professional relationship with all of my clients.

Lisa is great. We loved her since day 1. Her tactics and outlook on relationship issues are so insightful. Love all the analogies she has! Great therapist for us to improve communication and work as a team when things got tough. Thanks Lisa!
She is awesome is all I can say
I have been speaking with her for sometime about an gambit of issues including lgbt relationships/marriage, divorce, dating, relationship conflicts, and co-parenting. She has been helpful and listens offering good insight.
She is very knowledgeable. She listens and offers solutions that work with my current situation. I highly recommend her.
So far she is extremely kind and offers wonderful advice and reasoning. I highly recommend her!
Lisa has helped me work through and guide through root cause of what I’m in therapy for!
Lisa’s diversely unique career experience and commitment to continuous learning provides her the knowledge and capabilities to successfully work closely with marginalized and generalized populations alike. Her down to earth nature and strength based approach provides all clients the space to capitalize on their best parts; all while exploring their lows with grace and curiosity as opposed to shame or outward judgement. As long as the client shows the willingness to learn, she will support them during all parts of their recovery journey by providing honest and realistic feedback. She will believe in you even when it seems like no one else does.
Lisa has been very nonjudgmental and fair in her guidance and counseling with our son. She has kept confidentiality and supported all of us individually and as a group. Her experience, care, and thoughtfulness has been amazing for the mental health of our family.
She is great and very caring. No judgement zone and she wants to help.
She is very blunt but caring. She won't beat around the bush which I personally really appreciate.
She listens and asks questions that really peel back some of my thoughts and feelings. Somethings I never even thought about. I work from session to session. When things are hard I know that I can make it to the meeting day.
