I am a Licensed Social Worker with Advanced Practice designation and a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist for well over 25 years. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology/Social work from Stephen F. Austin University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston.
Within my clinical career, I have spent of 15 those years working with women, children and teens. I have worked with clients on dysfunctional family systems issues, overcoming Substance Abuse disorders, Eating disorders, Abuse and Neglect . I focus on strategies to cope with depression, grief, loss and the value of challenging dysfunctional core beliefs. Improving Self- Actualization is essential to overcoming the life struggles that have caused clients to move towards low self esteem and crises management of their lives. Recovering from hurt and emotional pain is a first line clinical strategy in retuning clients to personal wholeness.
Peer pressure in the teen years can unravel the lives of many adolescents. The primary focus in therapy is to work with both adolescent /child and family in order build a system of support and encouragement.
