About me
I am an LPC in the state of Texas. I have been in the field of mental health for the past year doing work from local mental health authorities of intensive clients, probationary clients, and out-of-home placements. I have been working with youth and their families for the last 4 years and a wide range of adults since 2016.
I have worked with juveniles in the justice system that are either on probation, detained, or placed in our county treatment facility. I have also work with youth from ages 8-17 that were diagnosed with several mental illness. I would coordinate family therapy sessions, individual counseling sessions, and collaborate with other team members.
I received my bachelors degree in 2014 at Texas State University in Psychology with a minor in Communication Studies to which I then proceeded to complete my masters degree in Counselor Psychology from Texas A&M- Kingsville in 2016. During my masters, I completed two thesis for presentations at two difference psychological associations for Stereotype threat and Morality Salience. My goal at the end of my research was to prove that when someone is in put in the face of adversities, we will prevail and succeed, which I proved to be true!
My approach to therapy is heavily based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but I do included techniques from DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention), Solution-focused, and Person-centered as well. In each session, I like to use my knowledge of each therapeutic technique to fit each client the best and work towards the goals they seek to complete. The art of therapy is to feel welcomed, non-judgmental, and working towards a better version of yourself to which I hope I can be a part of. I look forward to working with you on your journey!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lauren Mendoza. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
She was amazing. She listened to me and really helped me and encouraged me to grow and become the person I wanted to be.
Lauren was the first therapist I've ever spoken to so I was intimidated at first, but she was always so supportive and understanding of everything I talked to her about. She really was the best first introduction to therapy I could have ever asked for.
Lauren have been awesome. she listens well and gave a lot of help. She always check in on me even when it wasn't my session Lauren is great i'm glad i had her.
The challenge I have is my daughter’s portal has never been set up
She is awesome, if you are on the younger side this is the therapist for you. She understands that sometimes things aren’t black and white and sometimes you really just need a person to listen in a non judging way!
Lauren is an amazing counselor and I can't recommend her enough. When I began working with her, I was nervous that I wouldn't know what to say and was worried that she'd think my issues weren't bad enough. Instead, I felt comfortable right away. She asks really good questions that make you think then listens to your responses and helps you reframe them into something more positive that helps you move forward. Lauren is an asset to teen counseling!
Very sweet and nurturing, but doesn't get complacent with information that is withheld. Wants to genuinely know what you think and get on the frequency of your thought process.
She’s great!
She’s amazing
Lauren is amazing. I've been making a lot of progress since we've been meeting. Highly recommend
Super helpful!
It works. If you try.
And Lauren is pretty fantastic too! I wouldn't be where I am without her.
She is amazing and incredibly lovely. Easy to talk to and very trustworthy. Love love love!
Lauren was the best thing for me; I was in a really rough spot and i couldn't find my way up. She showed me how to see myself and see the world in a better view and I'm so happy i finally did this for myself.
If you're thinking about it, don't.
Just get a Lauren and feel better!
She’s great, listens to all my needs!
Working with Mrs.Regalado si.ce the beginning of May has been amazing. I really feel like she really cares and gets me. I really feel that she could help me get through my depression ,anxiety, and through this rough patch. I'm very hopeful
I feel good about my interactions with Lauren so far. She’s very positive and organized. She seems to have a plan and it makes me feel secure to have someone with an organized agenda. Solutions and progress initiatives. It really makes a difference.
