About me

Hi there, and welcome! First things first: Pat yourself on the back for taking a significant step just by coming to this website. My name is Laurie Dubrow, and I am a licensed clinical social worker. For nearly 20 years, I've worked at schools, in private and group practices and at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA (where I spent almost 12 months on a special project involving teenagers and young adults with serious health concerns). The issues that have brought teens to my offices have included: anxiety, ADHD, anger that doesn't diminish or can't be easily contained, depression, division in the family, divorce, feelings of not measuring up, a friendship or relationship gone awry, one's sexuality; unreciprocated love. Other issues include: problems with parents or siblings; emotional or physical abuse; and trauma.

A graduate of Bryn Mawr's Graduate School of Social Work & Social Research, I come with a hefty toolbox that includes such interventions and therapies as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, solution-focused or emotionally-focused therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and narrative therapy.

But enough about me. What's going on with you or with your teen, and how can I help?
