About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of professional work experience. I specialize with children , teens, and adolescents. I have my Master's Degree and have had a lot of volunteer opportunites/practicums in the field throughout my schooling. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, outpatient clinics, and private practice. I have experience in helping children, teens, and adolescents with depression and anxiety, stress managment, anger management, ADHD, trauma, loss, eating issues, family/school isuses, and relationship issues. I have done alot of work with foster and adopted children/teens and parents. I have taught study skills courses and done parenting skills training. I use a cognitive behavioral aprpoach to help children and teens make a conection between their thoughts /feelings and behaviors. I use a variety of modalities depending on the client's interests including art therapy, activities based therapy, writing, and poetry. I am in this line of help because I enjoy helping. I truly enjoy working with teens and young adults , and helping this population through today's challenges. I believe I make a differnce and my work is rewarding. My clients feel comfortable and able to develop rapport easily and maintain a relationship . I am thorough in my approach, covering all therapeutic goals, but do so on my client’s timeline and work together with my clients to overcome any obstacles preventing the therapy process to progress. I have a teenager myself so on a personal level I am able to understand and relate to the difficulties this population faces and understand parents going through struggles with their teens.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kristine Coyle. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.

Written on Dec 30, 2022 after therapy with Kristine for 2 weeks

Our family just met Kristine but we think she’s a great fit for our autistic teen.
