About Me

Welcome! My name is Kiran and I would love to work with you to help you becoming the best you can be! I'm very excited that you chose to take the first steps in your therapy journey. I decided to go into counseling after struggles I noticed in my own life. I love working with adolescents because I remember how hard it was when I was a teenager and wished I had someone to help guide me or support me. Therapy can mean different things to different people, because each one of us is so unique. I like to meet the client where they are and let them tell me what they need. I am here to support and help you, without judgement, so that you are able to realize the best version of yourself!

I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor is Sociology from the University of Houston. I later attended Prairie View A&M and received my Masters of Arts degree in Counseling. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (#68646) and have been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for about 10 years. I have worked in both inpatient hospitals and outpatient settings doing person-centered individual and group therapy. I have experience working with all demographics including children, adolescents, adults and families that struggle with many different issues, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar, stress management, grief, trauma, abuse, family conflict, relationship issues, anger management, behavioral problems and other mental health concerns.

My approach to clients is simple, meet them where they are. I use multiple types of theoretical approaches to make you feel the most comfortable. I believe you know what you want and need and its my job to help you get there. I am not here to judge you or lecture you, I am simply the support and guidance you may need to get to where you want to be.

I was skeptical at first to try online counseling for my teen daughter, but it is working out better than I thought. I believe the counseling is helping her go through this tough period of the pandemic by sharing her concerns with a 3rd party. The counselor seems caring and has connected with my daughter well.

teen counseling has help me grow in confidence and being able to express myself more openly. And with the help of a counselor, you actually have a professional answering your doubts. It feels like writing on a journal/diary where you actually get a proper response and feedback on how to control and manage your emotions.
