About me
Hello my name is Kim and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Californian with over 18 years of experience. I was a medical social worker in an hospital setting for 15 years . My experience was with patients and families living with cancer and dementia, end of life care, emergency room, intensive care , and substance abuse. I too enjoyed mentoring social work interns and medical residents to be mindful of their presence and words with family's and patients, along with teaching them to be aware of compassion fatigue and self care. I am currently employed for a legal services agency as a clinical social worker aiding disabled or seniors in my community, and continuing to mentor young social workers.
I believe everyone should go to therapy to help us over the bumps we all face in life. Everyone's bump is different with a differing extreme. All bumps shape who we are and how we view the world. I view my role as a therapist to empower, help decipher, and co-create a path of discovery forward based on the individual , couple, or family's goals. I am a client centered therapist. If the client would like to come to therapy to work out a specific issue in about 4-8 sessions that us great. If a client would like to dig deep for a better understanding of their self I am down. I have steered clients and families through crisis situations, grief, trauma, life-changes, parenting concerns, abuse, and witnessed the joys of success and accomplishments.
Outside of my work as a social worker and therapist I like to read, hike, bake, and watch Netflix , I love being a mom and hanging out with my family.
