I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the states of North and South Carolina. I graduated from Liberty University in 2013. My approach to counseling is very eclectic and person centered. I am experience in the utilization of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy (FT), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and I also assist clients with implementing forms of meditation into their daily lifestyle. My aim is to empower each person I am allowed to serve, and to assist them with understanding that each person has the ability to heal, cope, and/or adapt despite life's challenges. The power to create change is within each one of us, and my job is to assist you with that process. My initial training was in Family Systems Therapy because of working primarily with at risk youth. I assisting teenagers with confronting and overcoming the rapid changes that are occurring in there life, and/or overcoming unexpected traumas. Teenage years can be extremely difficulty by themselves, much less having to be faced with unexpected traumatic incidents that occur. My counseling style is non-judgmental, multi-culturally sensitive, and empathic.

Khalid is amazing at what he does! He has helped me through so much and continues to do so.

I speak to him once per week even on good days. He keeps me focused and when I have bad days he pulls me back.

I would highly recommend Khalid.

I started therapy with Khalid 7 months ago.
I was very hesitant to start, worried that it wouldn’t work out. It has been such a blessing to work with Khalid and I am extremely glad that I took the leap. He has helped me tremendously in dealing with my self limiting beliefs and negative attachments. He is helping me re-wire my brain and figure out what needs to change in order for me to build the life that I want. I was going through something very difficult and he really helped me deal with it and continues to do so in my healing process. Khalid is the first counsellor that has helped me to stick with therapy and believe in the process. Even though I have already seen a lot of growth, it feels like I am only just beginning. If you want to work with a counsellor who has a positive attitude, mindset and who truly cares about your growth, pick this one!

I’ve been doing counseling for a short time with Khalid and those closest to be can see significant changes in me since. He keeps on task with my personal goals and asks about the circumstances I can not control around me, how my emotions are in the moment and how they have been throughout the week.
He offers suggestions to help me through some of the most difficult things I feel I need to work on with myself. His methods are tried and effective for me. I’m really grateful for his calm presence and respectful listening that leads to honest and wise input. I feel encouraged and empowered after sessions with always something to continue working on throughout the week, which exactly what I asked for. His counseling is clinical and scientific researches evidence based which I so appreciate, he is knowledgeable and helpful. The best thing is, his counseling impacts not only me but others closest to me. When those I love feel more loved because of the changes they see in me that’s amazing. That’s the impact his counseling has had in my life over the past couple months.

Khalid's approach strengthens me spiritually before anything else. He asks pertinent questions that allow for deep, internal inquiry. He gently pushes you towards your own personal responsibility and offers solutions at the same time. I've been able to do a lot of work in a short amount of time. He's fantastic.

I was skeptical about trying teen counseling when I first started because I was not used to discussing my feelings, especially with someone I did not know but Khalid has really helped me with my anxiety and self doubt.
It has really me develop and understand myself, which has been fantastic for myself and relationships with family and friends.
He puts the science what he is talking about and helps those who may be more skeptical about counseling. 10/10 for sure.

Khalid forces me to get to the bottom of my issues. I feel heard and supported. The meditations he recommends have been helping. His style isn’t for everyone but if you need someone who is no nonsense, to the point and a good listener, then Khalid is for you!

I chose Khalid to be my counselor after teen counseling's algorithm matched me with a counselor I didn't vibe with. One of the things that drew me to him was comments like these and his profile about how he is open-minded and tries to incorporate various cultural practices into his work. One example is that I struggle with anxious episodes due to the nature of my work and breathing techniques I had been taught to use never worked in the moment. He then worked with me to find methods to cope outside of Western thought models, e.g. using EFT which has roots in Middle Eastern & North African studies and was further developed in Chinese medicine. Combined with meditative practices and EFT, as well as a more consistent counseling routine, I feel like I am getting back on track. Though I am still on this journey, I feel like I can trust him and that no matter who he sees he'll try to find the best solution for the person in front of him.

There are very few people as kind, calm and collected as Khalid. He is extremely patient and worked with me on multiple occasions to make it work for me. He is an excellent therapist and I would recommend him to anyone!

We have only had three sessions with Khalid and have already noticed a major shift in our relationship towards connection. Khalid is warm, mindful, positive, nonjudgmental and honors each person throughout the session. He creates a safe environment that promotes reflection and growth.
