About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I have worked as a LPC in Texas for three years. I seek to assist individuals, families, and couples resolve or better cope with a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, relational or social problems, parenting issues, divorce recovery, and trauma.
My background includes working with adolescents in a school setting for the past 24 years, including working as a school counselor for the last eight years. In addition to my work with children and adolescents, I obtained my LPC licensure, so that I was able to work with individuals and families as well. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree from Texas A&M University (1992) - Commerce, Texas, and my Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University (2010) in Commerce, Texas. I have experience with individual counseling, family counseling, group therapy, and play therapy. My counseling approach includes using cognitive behavioral, humanistic, and solution focused techniques.
I believe it's important to treat each person with respect and compassion. I will create an individual counseling plan for your child to help meet his or her specific counseling needs. I look forward to working with your child!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kathy Stringfellow. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Kathy is so kind! She helped me through a tough time, and I look forward to working with her again in the future.
My wife and I have enjoyed getting to know Kathy and have appreciated our two sessions together. She seems to sincerely care for both of us, our situation and circumstances, listens well to us, and doesn’t appear “to take sides” while mediating a recent argument between my wife and me. We were looking for a Bible-believing, Christian counselor and hope Kathy shares this view. Biblical guidance would be much appreciated!
Kathy has helped guide me through a tough time that I thought would never go away. She offered brilliant insight to my issues and has relieved me of my guilt and anxiety. I recommend her 100%.
Kathy has been extremely helpful since I started. She takes time to listen, makes me feel heard and suggests insightful and clear ways to deal with my problems. She has tailored my therapy experience to me and has been extremely helpful in identifying problems I was blind to. Working with her on my issues has resulted in me feeling happier and making better choices for myself day to day.
Thanks for your help and for talking to me!
She is very professional and polite. We trust her!
Kathy made me feel like I mattered and that I am important. I had to leave counseling for a little bit because of money and Kathy still would send me a message periodically to reach out to me so I would know she’s still available and she hadn’t forgotten about me. It helped me feel like someone cared for me.
