I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri with 20 years experience. I have worked with children and adolescents in outpatient and inpatient settings. I have helped teens with substance abuse, sexual abuse, PTDS, depression, peer issues, lack of motivation, and family problems.
It can be difficult for adults to remember their teen years in a realistic way instead of with rose colored glasses. Parents today report feeling a lot of pressure with their time, money, and family commitments. Today's teens feel the same way! Their issues are school, their future, friends, and family. Today's teens report feeling very pessimistic about their chances for a successful future. COVID has uprooted their social and educational experiences which can lead to depression and anxiety. My approach is warm, compassionate, and non judgemental. I am client focused and goal oriented. It's important that the your teen decide their goals with lots of parental support! I will provide ideas, skills, and tools to assist with this. I want to provide a safe and comfortable experience for both of you. I look forward to working with you!

Kathy has been very helpful to me.
Mrs. Kathy is a very patient, kind counselor. She really is able to connect with my daughter at a different level.
Very kind and personable. Easy to talk to!
Kathy did a great job helping me work through somethings and I will return as finances allow.
I like speaking with Kathy. She has supported me in some major life changes that were scary for me. It was nice to have the emotional scaffolding, so to speak.
Kathy is great at helping me make connections in communication and relating to my concerns!
I like how kind & open Kathy is
We have a lot in common so it definitely helps ease my anxieties about sharing such vulnerable experiences. Overall she’s been supportive and warm and insightful! She give impactful suggestions and isn’t pushy or overwhelming when suggesting new ideas or change; it always feels like she genuinely cares. I appreciate those qualities and I appreciate her.
I cannot say enough about Kathy. She is amazing. She listens. She asks good questions. She has just been such a big help in my life.
Kathy is very calm and supportive. She is compassionate and understands what I am going through, we are still new in our relationship but Kathy has already helped me so much just by listening. I look forward to our sessions every week and always feel better afterward. I would absolutely recommend Kathy to anyone who is looking for help, someone to talk to. My only regret is not finding Kathy sooner.
Kathy is so helpful. She is understanding and provides great direction. I look forward to talking with her each session.
Kathy is very supportive and a great listener. She asks good questions that prompt me to think about how I can solve my own problems and feel better about what I can do to move forward to balance my work, my relationships and my personal needs. She’s encouraging and strikes a great balance: She gently stops me from beating myself up while also helping me see for myself what I need to do differently to really pursue what I want in this life. I’d very highly recommend Kathy.
I love working with Kathy. She is professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. I feel she understands the direction I need to go to live a healthier lifestyle and gain emotional stability.
She’s fantastic. Glad I searched for a counselor and picked someone that I identified with what their bio had to say, rather than just going with my auto assigned counselor. Definitely don’t regret it!
