About Me

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read about me. My name is Kathryn and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been working in the behavioral health field for over ten years; and doing direct counseling for the past four years. I received my Master of Science Degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona. After graduation I worked as an in-home counselor with families struggling with interpersonal relationships, communication difficulties, substance abuse, and trauma. During my internship I worked with children struggling with trauma, and other behavior related issues within their family. I have experience working with individuals dealing with addictions and recovery, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, who uses a person-centered approach with an emphasis on being mindful and solution focused. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based therapy that is used to treat several psychological disorders such as phobias, addiction, depression and anxiety. My goal as a therapist will be to help your child feel safe, to build rapport, and trust in me as a therapist and in the therapeutic process. I will work collaboratively with you and your child to help achieve specific goals and help to improve responses to difficult situations. I utilize empathy, motivational interviewing, and active listening techniques to support in having a truly wonderful counseling experience.

I am truly looking forward to working and growing together with you.

Kathryn has been very helpful to me. She always listens to my current situation, asks questions for more information and then gives helpful advice on how to move forward. I've seen improvement in my marriage and communication with everyone since working with her. Highly recommend.

Very helpful, I am confusing when I express myself and she has a great way of getting down to my real issues. Highly recommended!

I've only had two video sessions so far with Kathryn, but so far I'm happy with her skills and ability to help. She's a good listener, has good practices to recommend, and is knowledgeable in her skill set.

A very straight to the point person who has a patient's best interest in mind.

Kathryn has been very helpful in processing the events in my life and has given me different perspectives that have helped me accept things while still acknowledging my feelings. I hope to continue counseling with her in the future.

Thankful for her kind and gentle advice. This trying time in my life would be much harder without support like hers.

Kathryn has been an integral part in my improved communication with my partner . She is open, honest and non-biased in her approach and always has effective tools for now and later for my partner and me. She has given us the tools to communicate effectively without her and I am forever grateful. I can honestly say that she has been a tremendous benefit in our relationship and I have referred our friends to her! If you need a neutral ear to hear you out and make sense of your issues going forward, I would highly recommend Kathryn!
