About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, fully licensed by the state of Michigan, with over 15 years of experience working as a clinical therapist. I have worked with clients of all ages and stages of life but have spent the majority of my career focused on teens ages 13-18 with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, grief, relationships, trauma, conflict resolution, health and wellness, LGBTQ issues and more.
My counseling style is positive, warm, and interactive. I believe in treating all clients with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, without judgement, creating a safe place for you to work on your challenges and struggles. My approach is cognitive-behavioral and solution focused, while also incorporating other techniques such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I also have training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Above all I customize counseling and treatment based on the individual needs of the client.
Change takes courage! If you are ready to take that step, I can help! I am here to support and empower you towards the change you desire.
I am looking forward to working with you!

Karen has been great! I started counseling due to a personal crisis that came out of a large and ambiguous set of concerns that I felt I need to work on . Karen has been very helpful as I try better understand how to move past self-perceptions and behaviours that I feel are making me unhappy in my relationships and less effective in my career. She offers a clear set of strategies and perspectives to work though confusing perceptions and emotions and the inadvertently self-sabotaging behaviours that come out of that. I am making great progress in living more purposefully and acting more effectively with her help.

Karen is an incredibly warm, patient and considerate counselor who listens closely to everything you say and addresses all of your concerns individually. I would love to have Karen as a regular face to face counsellor and have appreciated all the help, advice and time she's given me during our sessions.
