About Me

Welcome! My name is Julie and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervision designation and a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor in the state of Ohio. I have over 13 years experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, EAP, outpatient, partial care, residential, and transitional and permanent supportive housing. Although that seems like a lot, it simply means that I have had experience working with a broad range of clinical issues. I have the most experience working with individuals, couples, and families to address issues such as anxiety, mood disorders, addictions, perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and family/relationship conflicts.

I use a person-centered, holistic, multicultural, and trauma-informed approach in counseling. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs, while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I use evidence-based techniques including dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. I would describe my style as warm, empathetic, and supportive, and I am ready to help you tackle your struggle head-on. Collaboration is important, together we can work on establishing concrete goals and steps for you to help overcome your current problems. It can be challenging to ask for help and I commend you for taking the necessary steps towards change. I am looking forward to working with you!

I'm so thankful for the growth in confidence that my daughter has after working with Julie. Moms want to be be able to fix everything and sometimes we're just not equipped - and even if we are - we might not be the person the kid wants to listen to in that moment. Do not hesitate to get your child help - it can quite literally be a lifesaver. The growth I've seen in my daughter and her ability to handle a myriad of situations is amazing, and worth every single penny.
