Jonathan Meza

About Me

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California with over 10 years of combined unlicensed and licensed experience in the mental health field providing services for young children, adolescents, & adults.

Is your teen dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief & loss, or school trouble? Maybe a unique challenge with a transition or goal in their life? You are not alone, and I am here for you.

I pride myself in being a greater listener, a kid at heart, and a believer that life’s hardships can be opportunities for amazing growth. I think it is important to challenge and be real with my clients, while also respecting the beliefs and personal experiences that may influence their decisions. I integrate different aspects of Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy into my practice. Clients seeking to learn new coping and relaxation skills, task management and motivational enhancement, or to improve interpersonal and communication skills would be best suited for working with me.

A little more about me: I served as a soldier in the U.S. Army & CA Army National Guard from 2002-2009 and returned as a veteran of OIF III. I am bilingual in English & Spanish, and proud to have learned from and worked with clients from different cultures, religions, genders/sexual orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds. My top job is as a husband and father of two children, and I maintain my balance through my love for music, art, technology, nature, & spirituality.

I look forward to working with you, and can accommodate most schedules, including nights from 7pm to 10pm and weekends until 8pm. Best of luck in your therapy journey!

Jonathan is very helpful. He gives me his advice and answers my questions, or just listens. It's very helpful

I've been a little all over the map with personal issues I know I struggle with. So far, Jonathan has helped me focus on some tangible aspects I can actually work on. He's been helpful in giving me useful tools that I can actually use.
