I am Johanna Anderson, a licensed therapist in the State of Georgia. I obtained my bachelors degree from UNC-Greensboro in 2016 in Human Development and Family Studies. I then went on to get my Masters degree in 2019 in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lee University.
I having been doing therapy for about 5 years, including the time I was in school. I have experience working with young children, teens, adults, couples and families. I am experienced in helping clients work through issues such as anxiety, depression, low esteem/worth, family conflict, parenting issues, relational issues, attachment issues, trauma, and grief.
I have experience working in the school setting and currently work with teens daily. I understand the challenges to raising teenagers in todays world and fears that surround that. Getting teens to open up can be a challenge but I also have seen the relief the feel when they have a safe space to open up and talk.
I am passionate about meeting families right where they are to walk alongside them in their journey to find peace and healing. I am big on collaboration and want you to feel like you have control and in put in this process. Please note that I believe that you are the expert on your child but I also believe that teens need a space to talk about what they are going through without fear that the adults in their life will know EVERYTHING, this is what builds trust. I will ALWAYS let parents/guardians know of any safety concerns. I do request family sessions occasionally (case by case) to talk about goals, progress and to implement lasting change. I would love you work with you guys!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Johanna Anderson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Johanna has been working with my 14 year old child as well as our family for a few months now. In that short amount of time, my family has started to finally make steps towards understanding and mutual respect. She has shown us nothing but kindness and empathy. Johanna's been a blessing!
I'm thankful for her. she's a great listener and she helps me see things I didn't see before. she also helps me learn new tools for dealing with things.
Johanna is an awesome therapist!
