About me

Hello!

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor based in Orlando, FL. I graduated with my masters from the University of Central Florida in 2016. I have experience working with teenagers both in the medical and psychiatric hospital setting, in community mental health, in the public school system, and as the clinical manager of a community based wraparound intensive outpatient team for children, adolescents, and young adults.

I feel passionate about addressing the mental health needs of both those who have been living with persistent mental health struggles as well as those individuals struggling to adjust to the curve balls life may throw them. I have worked with teens experiencing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, anger, family problems, and LGBTQ+ issues. I have also worked with teenagers with co-occurring physical and mental illnesses.

My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy with a strong mindfulness component, solution focused techniques, and motivational interviewing. My style incorporates both empathy and humor as we build our therapeutic relationship. It is important to me that you feel safe, heard, and validated as we work together. I believe firmly in empowering individuals to learn and practice skills to maintain their mental health and improve their quality of life. I approach therapy as a collaborative process, allowing you to set your goals and priorities for treatment.

In my free time I enjoy taking my puppy to the dog park, snuggling up and watching a good movie with my two cats, and keeping up with pop culture.
I look forward to working together!

I will review later. My interactions have been limited. With more experience with her, I will respond.

Written on Jul 22, 2022 after therapy with Jessica for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, and compassion fatigue

Jessica has been so understanding of everything I’ve had to say. I’ve felt totally comfortable in our sessions because she’s always ready to follow the conversation where it needs to go without judgement, and she is both accepting and constructive in her responses. She has a casual, friendly approach that I appreciate. Highly recommend!
