My name is Jennifer Maddox and I enjoy being a licensed professional counselor. I earned my Master of Arts degree as a Professional Counselor from Liberty University in 2016. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in Human Services with a specialization in health and wellness. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, alcoholism, family and relationship conflicts, grief, anger management, bipolar disorders, adjustment disorders, adolescents, children, trauma, and stress.
Counseling provides an avenue to navigate through life’s challenges in a healthy and productive manner. As a counselor I strive for my clients to gain self-awareness and self-acceptance, for we are ultimately responsible for our own well-being. However, with adolescents they are not able to make the best choices regarding their well-being.
I believe that guidance and family are very important in the lives of teens at such stages in life. I try to uplift the teen while providing a safe environment for them to decompress. The goals, progress, and personality will determine which techniques I use when interacting with adolescents. I incorporate an eclectic approach, often favoring cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic therapies.

Jennifer has made a big difference in the life of our teenage daughter! We immediately saw a change in our daughter’s attitude when we put into practice Jennifer’s recommendations with regards to the way we as parents interact with our daughter. Thank you Jennifer!
I have only just started working with Jennifer but she has been very helpful so far and listens great! I’ve really enjoyed having her as my therapist.
Even though I just recently started therapy with Jennifer, I think she is a great listener and she is exceedingly helpful she is giving me a lot of things to think about and is helping me work through a lot. I am confident that Jennifer can and will help me and I look forward to this journey she has accompanied me on with my mental health.
She's a perfect fit for where I am mentally with evident expertise without arrogance. I just love this lady!
She really helped me with some of the issues that I had, like organization and motivation issues. I’m really glad that I got to spend time in counseling with her and I really recommend her to others!
Jennifer is my first therapist ever and I love her. She is understanding and she speaks from a place of kindness. I feel like I'm working toward my goals with her. :)
I’ve only had one live session but that along with the messages that Jennifer has sent me have been so refreshing. She always gets back to me in a timely fashion and she’s very relatable which helped create a trusting environment.
I am very pleased with Jennifer and the suggestions she has given. I enjoy working with her.
I've been using teen counseling for about two weeks now & it has been the best decision I've made. I started off by participating in groupinars while waiting to be matched with my counselor. The groupinars were uplifting & very informative.
When I received the notification that I was matched with Jennifer, I was excited & nervous at the same time because I knew the type of counselor I wanted & wasn't sure if we'd be a good match. Let me tell you...…Jennifer is literally all I've prayed for in a counselor. She's understanding, kind, caring, and relatable. I am excited for this journey.
I’ve only had one session so far but I can tell Jennifer will be amazing to work with. She’s already been so supportive and listens to me. Highly recommend.
I have talked to a few different professionals in a few different settings over the last 15 or so years on and off and she is the first one I feel like has helped me the most. I often unload on her with word vomit and she’s able to go through and pick out what the real issues are and work with me on those. I’ve been working with her for a couple weeks now and I feel like my life is getting back on track with the few things she’s helping me through. I really appreciate everything she does!
Jennifer is a God-send. She is professional, understanding, relatable, grounded and seems to always know what to say and how to say it. I feel safe, seen and understood without judgement. She knows how to keep you focused on what matters in life. Jennifer has been an extreme blessing to my life, especially during such a dark and tumultuous time for the world, for America, my community and my family.
Jennifer is probably the best counselor I have had in my life. She is so kind and understanding and made me feel so safe and heard. I feel like I have sp much personal growth having her on my side this past year.
Jennifer is kind, professional and willing to slowly build to the difficult questions that unearths where “the work” needs to be done. I am thankful to have her as my mental health professional.
Jennifer has been very helpful. The worksheets she recommended are great. She never makes me feel judged or less than.
Jennifer is always loving, caring, helpful and insightful. I would highly recommend her as a teen counselor.
I have started to be more optimistic and hopeful of my future since talking to Jennifer! She helps me feel validated and not alone. I have started to work on my anxiety and I appreciate her being there to guide me!
This is my first experience with counseling and I am very happy with the progress I am making. Jennifer is compassionate, and encouraging while having you work hard processing your emotions and feelings and allowing you time to heal and move forward at your own pace.
Love her! She had helped me through a figurine in my life and gives me guidance.
This is my first time working with a therapist; I had a lot of fear around it, but working with Jennifer has provided me with so much relief and calm and hope. She is easy to talk to, very encouraging, and always stretches my thinking. Highly recommend!
Jennifer is very supportive and understanding. She's able to take your feedback and challenge you to think more about what you're experiencing and how those experiences are impacting your emotional and mental well-being. She has helped me to expand upon my perspective. She is very empathetic and fair. She also has encouraged me to revisit my spirituality as a necessary facet of who I am. I would recommend Jennifer to anyone who is matched with her, based on their criteria and needs. She is a lovely woman and a comforting therapist.
It's nice to talk to her I feel she is very understanding of my stress. And is very easy to talk to.
Very respectful and knowledgeable in the areas we need
