About Me

Hello. First, allow me to commend you for making the decision to aid your child in seeking therapy. This decision is one of great significance and courage, for both the adolescent/teen and the parent. Knowing that entering into therapy can be scary for many, it is my goal to help my clients have a comfortable and successful experience in therapy. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Nevada. I received my Bachelor of Art's degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon. I then went on to obtain my Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I have worked in both agency and private practice settings. I enjoy working with a diverse client population and have experience treating a wide range of concerns, including mood disorders, significant life changes/transitions, issues within relationships, addiction, grief and loss, issues related to identity and/or self-esteem, and trauma and abuse. As an LMFT, I have specific training specialized towards family and relational concerns, at each age/developmental stage. Additionally, I have found that I work especially well with adolescents and teens. I work hard to find a balance between allowing my younger clients a sense of privacy and autonomy, while also ensuring that the parents do not feel shut out of the process. I find great value in providing my teen clients the same respect and regard that I give to any of my adult clients.
I use a variety of treatment methods. I believe that each person is unique, and therefore, deserves a therapy specifically tailored to them, their experiences, and needs. Some of the therapeutic modalities I frequently use include experiential therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. However, above all, I believe the most important factor for therapeutic change and a client's overall progress, is the relationship between therapist and client. Therefore, I highly prioritize the therapeutic relationship and maintain an atmosphere of safety, compassion, and respect. I work to empower my clients towards hope and healing.
I believe everyone possesses the innate capability to conquer their problems, but we can all become stuck, confused, or overwhelmed. For an adolescent or teenager, this can be even more complicated with the variety of messages they are constantly receiving about who or how they "should" be. Talking it over with an uninvolved, unbiased, trained individual focused solely on helping the client can make all the difference. Allow me to provide that for you and your child. Lets solve the problem together.

Jennifer is awesome, she has made me feel comfortable since our first session and has gained my trust and has made me comfortable enough to talk about issues I rarely talk about with anyone. I’m so glad I get to work with her, I think with time she will truly help me with my mental and emotional health.

I recently just started on the teen counseling app and I can say the only reason I’m still on it is because Jennifer is someone I’m learning to trust. I feel safe talking to her.
