About Me

I care. I respect you. You are a parent and you want the best for your child. Generally we parents enter into parenthood believing strongly in our innate capability to be a good parent. Then we find ourselves often struggling in ways that came unexpectedly. As the caring parents we are, we discover the importance of networking with other parents as well as professionals. If you have no one like that, or want to expand on your already trusted support, then I thank you for reviewing my profile. I want to make a helpful difference in your life and your family. I make myself available to you.

My name is Jeffrey BennettI have been talking with teenagers and children for over 25 years as a professional therapist. I hold a License as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Just as important, over those 25 years, I have been talking to teenagers and children as a person who cares. I too have been deeply troubled in life, both as a parent as well as an individual, and who fought hard in the process of healing. And I definitely did not do it perfect. NOOO Way. Struggling alone I found myself far more vulnerable to people and events. Working together on a team with others more experienced then I, or even with the same limited experience as I, I experienced far better results. I offer myself and my professional skills to help you with your challenges, no matter how severe or bleak they may seem. There is help and hope.

I have spoken to countless teenagers and children in both biological and foster families. I am frequently told how satisfying our time is together. They say they were surprised about the different and good and quick results they experience. Many will say how they feel some better or far better for it. And how their gains were not just short lived but long lasting that even continued to improve.

Relating to the parent, they often comment on how pleasantly surprising it has been. They report a relief sense of not feeling alone anymore in their parenting challenges. And much pressure lowered as they corrected their false understanding that they should possess a sense of naturally knowing everything and meet every need of their child alone and without counsel. How unfortunate that these myths survive and are even perpetuated! Parents often exhume excitement in the discovery how even seemingly little changes made a big difference for their family.

Many of the greatest lessons I learned in my life came from difficult and painful events in my adolescence. As a parent, we can empower our children by providing many wise options finding good support and counsel. My regrets stem from not seeking more counsel from adults and even my friends. While in some challenges I was able to navigate through myself, other challenges I definitely needed to face together with a team. And the good results benefited me the rest of my life, even to this day. And I continued to this day to build on those successes. I more appreciate now the wise counsel I was encouraged to get by both my parents and other caring individuals.

That is one reason I desire to make myself available to you. Giving back and forward to the next generation of families. The professional help here is always secure and confidential. Included in your subscription, besides the 24/7 general chat, are private scheduled sessions. You are encouraged to self schedule confidential and secured livechat, phone and video sessions for you and you child. 'Let's Talk'.

I wish you and your family the best. Jeff

Jeff is definitely a great counselor. He’s there every step of the way and genuinely cares about what you’re going through I’d recommend him to anyone who needs help or just needs someone to listen to them.

The stigma surrounding therapy is REAL and I had extreme apprehension and doubt about starting, but Jeff has been such a blessing. He truly listens. He truly cares. I thought therapy was more like needing someone to “fix” me, but Jeff just shifts my focus to simple and practical ways for helping myself. He helps me remember that I am in control of me and I CAN live this life. I can’t say enough good things about him.

Jeff is really good at breaking down problems I bring up to solvable steps and action items needed to go past the hurdle. He also makes sure that I remember to not put so much pressure on myself

Jeff is the best. He is so kind and caring and he listens so well that he truly understands me. The part that makes him so invaluable is that he takes the time to understand how I think and knows how to convey ideas in a way that makes sense to me. He is so honest and sincere. The help and guidance he has provided me will stay with me for the rest of my life, and I know who to go to if I have any problems. I feel very lucky to have found him.

Had a few sessions with Jeff. Eternally grateful I was matched with him- I feel more at ease, understood, not judged, and humbled. He says he cares- and that's quite apparent. I can already see improvements in my day to day existence. Thank you Jeff.

He is my son's counselor. My son very much responds to his methodology and was not in favor of this but will do counseling with Jeff Bennett and makes the appointments on his own. I can also message him my concerns and he does discuss them with my son when appropriate. I feel much better and my son is doing better too. It's a long process.

Jeff is amazing! He has helped me walk through one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. He is very patient and an active and supportive listener. His support and guidance have been helping me get to know myself better while recovering from post-relationship grief and trauma. He always listens to what my concerns are and helps me see them in a more helpful light. The materials (worksheets, books, information, etc.) he shared with me have been very valuable and he encourages and inspires me to do my work such as journaling helping me cope with the grief and loss.

Jeff offers genuine care and total attention together with the warmth of a father-like character, someone you can fully trust. It's easy to feel that he really listened and wanted to understand where my issues came from. We worked together for about 5 months and I have seen huge improvement in myself. I started out like a victim but finished like a victor. Thanks to Jeff's experience and deep understanding. His knowledge of the Bible, his faith in Christ and his non-judgmental Christian view have also helped me a lot in my spirituality and my walk with God. I'm forever grateful. Thank you!

Jeff has been a steady hand through stormy waters. As I have come to terms with reality of being a recovering addict Jeff has been there as a faithful guide and listening ear. he has helped me open a conversation with myself that has shown me how I can change. We've met once a week for several months now and built a professional relationship of trust where I feel able to share dark secrets I have carried on my own for a long time. In turn, this has helped me reach out to others and I now have a stronger network of friends who are helping me on my road to recovery.

I was in serious need of someone to guide me through grieving my husband’s death, and to coach me out of years of self neglect from being a chronic caregiver.
Jeff and I texted a lot prior to our first productive video session. Then I hit a big wall of stress and wanted to run away as usual. Jeff was SO patient, kind, and empathetic. Acknowledging my anxiety issues, we adapted goal setting. I’m learning new skill sets to survive a difficult past. Some include, celebrating accomplishments, being a better role model for my children, and care for myself along the way. Admittedly, I’m not easy to work with, Jeff has gained my trust and confidence. Most importantly I feel hope. I’d forgotten how that feels.

Although Jeff and I are fairly new to working together, he’s been nothing but a supporting rock. He has such a kind soul that is so welcoming and you know he cares and wants to be there for you. And for a lot of us seeking help, that’s something that’s very important to us. He’s not afraid to dig deep and make you realize that your life is yours to control, but will give you great tips to rein in the anxiety and stress and succeed. He’s honestly great.
