About Me

At times we all experience challenges that effect our mental health. In this day and time our children are facing so many different challenges. There are times when you need to address these challenges with a kind, compassionate, non-biased, intuitive listener, and that's me. I treat everyone with dignity and respect. My counseling style is warm and interactive. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psycho-dynamic, dialectical behavioral therapy and rational-emotive counseling. I have been a psychotherapist for 12 years. I have worked with children and teens on multiple challenges that they are faced with. Concerns such as peer pressure, abandonment depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, sexuality, substance abuse, OCD, and ADHD . I also have helped many children who have experienced sexual abuse, physical trauma or emotional abuse. I believe in a team approach. We will develop treatment plans together to address your specific needs and concerns.
It takes courage to seek help. The first step is to reach out and address your concerns. Just know that once you seek help that you're closer to creating change in your life. I'm ready when you are.
I look forward to working with you!

In my first few years of high school, I was filled to the brim with anxiety. Everything made me worry; I was never happy. Jan helped me develop a toolkit to manage my anxiety, and she also helped me improve my relationship with my dad (which was terribly tense), set up goals for my future with a vision board, and much more. I’m eternally thankful for all of the time I’ve spent with her because she has made an undeniable positive impact on my life. And, I am proud to say that, thanks to Jan, I now have everything I need to combat the anxiety that paralyzed me before. Thank you Jan! :)

I am so grateful for Jan and the work we have done together. Throughout our time together, Jan has helped me with methods to overcome a hurdle that has been holding me back for many years. She has always been very attentive to my needs and always validated, encouraged and pushed me using tools to teen counseling clarity so that I can make the right choices for my life. Jan helped me to rebuild the foundation on which I am working to maintain a more balanced, happy and joyful life. I am forever grateful for her help!
