About me
I am licensed in North Carolina with 15 years of professional work experience post-licensure. I have a Masters Degree in School Counseling and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
I have experience in working with teens to help manage stress and anxiety, family conflicts, understand trauma and abuse, & learn how to control anger safely. I meet kids where they are to focus on the needs or concerns they have using person-centered techniques, staying in the moment with real discussions, helping them understand feelings and how they relate to behaviors, and using trauma-centered or informed treatment to help teenagers recognize how their past may effect their current feelings or behaviors. Meeting you where you are at is critical for me and your therapy experience.
I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process, and am grateful you have reached out to take those first steps for a healthier you.
Thank you for trusting me in helping you find ways to work on what's important for you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ian Meeks. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
I like that Mr. Meeks is very realistic and to the point. He has helped guide my partner and I through some troubling times and shown us new strategies to implement. I am forever grateful.
Ian is extremely responsive. He is thoughtful and supportive and very discreet. He has really helped me put many things into a different perspective. I truly appreciate his work.
Ian has been a great addition to my last the past few months. At some point I thought I was really spiraling, but Ian helped me realise its OK to feel like that sometimes and there are SO MANY different ways to deal rather than pills or alcohol. Ian is super understanding, he's detailed, and most importantly he's SUPPORTIVE, I genuinely feel as though I made a friend!
Thank you for everything Ian, this has been SUCH a helpful experience for me
I have been working with Ian for a few months now, and it has been life changing. He is really understanding of all of my needs, and has been extremely supportive and helpful in working through the toughest part of my life. He really cares, and his expertise and professionalism is felt in every session and message we have.
Ian has been nothing but professional, kind, supportive, and REAL!!!! He has helped provide me with many tangible tools to deal with daily disturbances, and I always get off sessions with him feeling empowered and like I just was equipped to better care for and heal myself, which I feel is the ultimate goal of therapy.
Ian was very honoring and showed extreme kindness to my partner who “was” very hesitant at the thought of revealing his baggage. Now my partner LOOKS forward to
his meetings. Ian gives us the best assignments/games that the entire family can play, it really has created a stronger love for our entire family!
Thank you Ian!
