Adolescence is a time ripe with changes both physical and emotional. It can be a confusing and challenging time both for the pre-teen/ teen going through it and the family trying to support them during this time as well.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in Pennsylvania and Delaware with over 10 years of experience working in multiple types of settings; including Middle Schools and High Schools. In my work, I have experienced many different types of concerns as it relates to this population and the families who love them. I try to meet the clients where they are and utilize respect, compassion, and theoretical practice to provide clients with treatment tailored to them and their needs. Maya Angelou once said, “ my mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. “ I try to embody this beautiful quote in how counsel my clients. I believe that the keys to our healing are within us and that with support, compassion, respect, and sensitivity we can overcome those real and perceived barriers keeping us stuck. I utilize an integrative style that includes theoretical practices such as; Systemic, Narrative and others, I try to meet my clients where they are and utilize the methodology that most speaks to their needs.
I look forward to working with you!

Helen Ford has been a Godsend. She always gets back to me quickly and addresses my concerns. She communicates diplomatically yet firmly in a way that doesn't hurt my currently fragile psyche. I have actually already recommended her and prefer her to any counselor I have been to thus far. This form of communicating feels more personal I think because the counselor isn't looking away writing while I talk. So it makes me feel she is fully listening instead of multi tasking. The first thing I did this afternoon when I felt stressed was to check to see if I had a message from her, YES! Being able to write it out to her is therapeutic and enables me to feel calmer. You have a good one in Helen Ford. I sincerely feel like she does care and that she is committed to helping me through this crisis.
Helen has been through a lot with me the past few months and really has helped me with all the issues that I bring to her. She is really good at listening and really good at giving advice when I need it.
Helen is very kind, professional and supportive. She is easy to communicate with and is appropriately responsive.
A lovely and caring person, very professional and helpful! I feel talking with her is worth the time!
So far Helen is great. I would definitely recommend.
Helen truly listens to me. She pushes me to think about my situations and she works with me to help me find the answers myself. Our counseling sessions are more of a partnership. Even in the short amount of time I've been working with her, I can see a large improvement in my mental health.
