One of my favorite things to do as a therapist is to work with children and their families. Throughout grade school and high school I was determined to be an attorney, but in April of 1999 something big happened: Columbine High School was home to a horrific mass shooting. I had a very difficult time getting back to my cheery self, and I remember thinking, "How can I bring children into a world like this?" It was then that I decided that the work I REALLY was passionate about, was working with children and their families to decrease the type of issues that led to this shooting. I wasn't exactly sure what that would look like, but I knew studying psychology would be key. After I enrolled in college, I started working for a company that focused on the reunification, when possible, of families. That meant children who were in foster care and foster parents who needed help with the children's behaviors. This work is what really led me to where I am today. I worked with a specific child for several hours a day, up to 8 hours each day. My work was guided by the therapist who worked with each specific kiddo. I knew that I wanted to be a therapist that helped guide this type of work, so after I graduated from undergrad, I went straight into a Master's degree program.
Fifteen years later, I have two mental health counseling licenses, been trained in The Incredible Years, Collaborative & Proactive Solutions, Solution-focused Brief Therapy and Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have worked with hundreds of children across our nation and I know that I choose the right path. So many years have passed since that awful day in April, and I have had the opportunity to work with so many different populations, from children and their families, to drug and alcohol addicts, to military families who need help with coping skills. In all of those opportunities, some of my most rewarding work has been with children. Clients have ranged from having, severe ADHD to Autism to Psychotic disorders (i.e., Bipolar Disorder with Psychotic features or Schizophrenia) to Adjustment Disorders. I have developed many skills and I continue to learn with each new client I work with. If I get the opportunity to work with your family, I will work hard to help you in any way I can.

I like Heather Jamison. She's more than somebody who has been to school and obtained a degree that qualifies her to council. She's read all the books yet thinks for herself. She has been tremendously helpful.
Heather Jameson has helped my teen daughter through a very difficult time. Online counseling was perfect for her to open up and not feel vulnerable. I would highly recommend Heather!
I love that she understands the nuances of military life. I like her science based approach.
I’ve been so stressed with work lately and it has become extremely consuming. Heather is helping me to realize that I’m going to get through this and I’m not alone. Thank you.
Very helpful and responsive. I'm awful and I sometimes go through months when I just can't even message, and she always notices my absence and checks in on me, which means a lot.
Heather is extremely kind, courteous, empathetic and helpful. Recommend.
I have only been with Heather a short while, but she has given me hope when I felt hopeless and scared. She response within 24 hours which gave me that glimmer of light that I needed to make it through the day. She was there for me mentally in way that I knew my loved ones around me couldn't be. I am just on the start of my recovering journey and Heather makes me feel safe and hopeful in her knowledge on how to get to my end goal.
My significant other and I have just started working with Heather, but I could tell from our first session that it was a perfect fit for us. She is exceptional! Highly recommend.
She is patient and kind, she knows all the right things to say for me at least. She is very responsive when I send messages to her. I'd recommend her to someone if they needed a counselor.

Heather is kind, patient, understanding and insightful. She's the perfect blend of gentle leadership and understanding listener. She knows just the right questions to ask to make you think and move you forward. I'm glad that I was matched with her.
I had some difficulty in the beginning to pour my heart out to someone I couldn't see and hear, but I have decided to give it a go and it has been a very pleasant experience so far. I don't feel judged and and it's very nice to have such a frequent back and forth in contact, instead of waiting for a new appointment every week for an hour. I'm very happy I have found help where I can speak English, and write about my feeling so that I have time to think before giving a response.
Heather has been very supportive. I see her feedback on my messages as very insightful.
