About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Texas. I have worked with families and children over thirty years in various capacities. I have also worked in a school setting with high school age young people I have worked with young people on issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, self esteem, abuse and/or neglect, relationship issues, blended family issues, trauma and issues related to school/education.
I am a certified clinical trauma professional. I like helping others work through difficult situations. I like to think of myself as a understanding guide to help for those in need. I like to help people connect with themselves, relationships and resources.

I am a firm believer in the mind, body and spirit working together to find a sense of well being. My approach is is a combination of short term goal oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic and solution focused therapy. I am happy to help work on a treatment plan that best reflects the individual needs of the client.

I truly believe that all of our lives have been forever changed due to events in the last two years. Those changes have created more conversations about the importance of mental health. Those conversations have helped many to learn that it is okay to not be okay. Young people have the difficult task of navigating a more complex world than ever before. The ability to get the help that we need is so important for the people that we are, the people that we hope to become and to those that will come after us. We can all do our part to promote mental health for yourselves and others. Allow me the honor of helping you in your self care journey.

Miss Gwen, zeroed in on the problem we are having without assigning blame but making responsibility for change clear.

My daughter seems to be really responding to the therapy and I am grateful to have someone my daughter trust to discuss her anxiety with. If it can’t be me, I’m glad she has someone so caring.
