Hello, my name is Gwendolyn "Nikki" Cane. Before talking about myself, I want to applaud you for making the move to seek help to work on your personal goals. In reference to my previously stated professional experience, I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Tennessee. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I have worked in all types of settings, such as intensive in-home, outpatient, and inpatient. I have expertise in women’s issues, perinatal mental health care, careers, addictions, grief, and adolescents. I currently work in an academic setting using the most updated research based counseling techniques to help college students with various needs, such as self-esteem, peer pressure, depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship conflicts, and much more. My knowledge and array of experience in these different settings makes me a qualified candidate to assist you.
