About me
Thank you for reviewing my profile. Hopefully you’ll find my experience and skills are what you seek to address your concerns. In my years as a psychotherapist and working and helping others I realize it takes much courage to open your life to someone you don’t know so, if this is your first psychotherapy experience, I congratulate you on taking this first step towards achieving the life you want to live.
Throughout my career I have provided services to all ages and many varied populations, including children, teens, adults, families and couples.
I'm a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington Graduate School of Social Work and hold a Masters of Science of Social Work Degree. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
My 30+ years of providing psychotherapy services include work on children’s psychiatric hospital units, both as staff and as a visiting therapist, as a unit director of a children's and adolescent's residential treatment facility, as staff therapist and director of several community mental health centers, and operate my own private practice. As a martial artist, I created and implemented a program for children and adolescents that featured Tai Chi in combination with group therapy to facilitate change by transferring the principles of discipline learned in Tai Chi to experience success at home and in other areas of their life. Though this program was specifically designed for children experiencing ADHD, it was found to be successful with children experiencing other emotional and behavioral issues.
As a result, these experiences have provided me with a working understanding of some of the challenges faced by teenagers and their families, as well as, the training in methods and techniques to help them meet and overcome these challenges, such as behavior management, behavior modification, social and interpersonal relationship skills training.
The most important aspect of helping teens appropriately deal with the stresses and obstacles in their life is promoting and encouraging positive family relationships and communications I find is often the catalyst for positive change.
I am also the author of the book, Escape from Insanity Illusions and Lies, that's available on Amazon.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ed Green. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Thank you for all your guidance and help. It has made a huge difference in my life
I appreciate his broad range of expertise and life experiences. These sessions have helped me transition from struggles and despair to strength and dreams that I’ve always had and am now putting into action ! Thank you Mr Ed!
Mr. Green is one of the most intuitive, knowledgable, respectful professionals I’ve had the opportunity to work with. He has a gift when it comes to opening up perspectives and showing other opportunities and options available to you. He is a great listener and keeps very detailed notes which is refreshing! I definitely recommend Mr. Green to both civilians and veterans alike if you’re looking for a great therapist! Thank you Mr. Green!

He listens to both sides of the story in couples counseling, and never comes across as judgmental. He helps to facilitate conversations and helps each person as an individual and couple. He provides outside activities to help practice positive skills.
Great therapist, understands my condition, does not dismiss my mental diagnosis but instead strongly teaches me ways to live in comfort with it along side my medication which is making me feel more and more better
Great experience so far
Thank you Ed!
I sincerely appreciate your time and I’m sorry we couldn’t make our Marriage work.
Mr. Green is an amazing listener and makes you think and interact in a completely organic way.
Ed is amazing at what he does, helps me to recognize old patters and new growth and is always great at sending worksheets that apply to our sessions for further growth
Ed is thought-provoking, an excellent leader, and a great listener. I highly recommend him- just don't try and steal my weekly time with him. :)
I am so grateful to have Mr. Green as my therapist. First, I was impressed with the quickness with which teen counseling found a therapist for me, for I requested certain qualifications I believed would be necessary to the success of my therapy. I thought, from past experiences with other attempts to find a compatible therapist, that this attempt would be no different and would take a long time. It did not. I had a recommendation literally in a few minutes! In my opinion, sessions are progressing very well and I have more clarity about issues needing resolution. Mr. Green listened to me and my history. He thoughtfully asked questions, carefully explored and sorted out a mish-mash of issues, and proposed worksheets that were on point to help me sort through some very complicated personal matters. I can see a light at the distant end of the tunnel.
Ed is very pleasant and relatable. He is thoughtful with his questions and responses.
Ed is amazing in so many ways. I have never done counseling and frankly was terrified but when I spoke to Ed he is someone who wants to know you, support you and challenge you. All the things needed when times are so tough.
Ed is a blessing.
With only a few sessions logged, my child and I feel that we are already making progress. Ed Green has been instrumental in our healing process.
Ed has been fantastic in giving me support and identifying areas for me to improve my life that I was unaware of. Highly recommend!
Very knowledgeable and has good insights. Picks up on ideas and thoughts, which helps me to focus on what the underlying issues are
I love the way Ed Green handles counseling, I feel like he truly understands me as if he could read my mind and my heart. In such a short period of time I have seen a small improvement within myself, the week between our meetings feels lighter now.
Very helpful, kind, wise
Me and my SO have talked with Ed only two times and already we are communicating better and resolving our "tiffs" quicker. He is caring, patient and has a gentle smile at all the right times.
Mr. Green is very knowledgeable. He helped me to break apart the litany of issues that I had to just start with one that would produce multiple responses. He was very helpful.
Ed is compassionate in his approach to provide help. He listens and seeks to understand how you feel. He has helped me to work through and to make sense of a challenging season. I am truly grateful for his support and guidance.
Ed has been such a help in our limited time together, I look forward to working with him in the future
We love ED Green!!!
It’s been a tremendous experience thus far working with Ed Green. I’d be here all day explaining the many things that he’s done for me in such a short frame of time but instead I’ll say if you do get the opportunity to have him as your counselor, look no further and if he is unable to help you he won’t force it but truly help you find what you need to get the help you need.
I really feel like he understands me and he listens to me and is able to help me express what I’m trying to say this has all been new to me and he’s been very helpful.
