About me
Hello and thanks for checking out my profile. Please call me Doug, as I like a relaxed and no-pressure setting for working with young adults and adolescents. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in California. I was born and raised in central Los Angeles and currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have worked in the foster care system, as a school counselor, as a county mental health specialist working with youth involved with the juvenile justice system, and have been the director of a program for young adults with Asperger’s Disorder (now known as autistic-spectrum disorders). Prior to my career in the mental health field, I was a professed Brother and then a Priest in the Catholic Church for almost 10 years. I create a flexible and no-judgement environment when working with youth and their families, working from the assumption that everyone comes to the table with good intention. I work in a variety of therapeutic modalities, and have experience with depression, living and working with learning disabilities, dealing with video game and social media issues, and processing past abuse and trauma. Feel free to always reach out and start a conversation with me, and we can explore together whether I might be a good fit. My scheduled availability is usually Monday through Thursday, from 4PM to 9PM Pacific Time, with occasional later times available upon request.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Douglas Livingston Quinn. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Dr. Livingston has been my therapist for a short 6 months. He is a great therapist who has helped me through issues with my career, relationship, religion and military PTSD. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is very insightful and constructive.
I think he has a lot of experiencie, is empathetic and smart
I have greatly enjoyed working with Dr Livingston Quinn, he has been very helpful in working through some difficult things I have had to deal with. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Doug is INCREDIBLE. SO patient, non-judgemental, VERY soothing demeanor, his feedback and insight as been SO appreciated and he helps me to view things from a whole new perspective. I am extremely likely to recommend him, and this entire platform to others, the experience has been an all around incredibly pleasant one.
Douglas is incredible in his therapy sessions. I immediately noticed his expertise through his response and effectiveness in his suggestions. I would highly recommend him for anyone going through a difficult moment in life
He is good at his job
Dr. Livingston Quinn is the definition of a true professional. He is always supportive, makes himself available to his clients, and has definitely helped me navigate the current situation in my life. I am grateful I have found him and believe that he will help me deal with my anxiety and depression issues. He is very easy to talk to, very understanding, and insightful! Thank you, doctor!
So far I’ve had just one session with Dr Livingston Quinn so it’s difficult to provide a comprehensive review. In that session I found him to be easy to talk to and to quickly understand situations and optimal ways of addressing those situations
Dr. Quinn shows his experience through his feedback, suggestions and methods. I find him approachable and warm with a terrific sense of humour which allows us to connect. I have stayed with this counsellor as he has been effective and is a ‘safe space’ for someone who has experienced a lot of trauma and loss.
Dr.Quinn is an excellent therapist who really understands the issues that we are all going through.
He is great!! Good called him to do this work. It is in his blood.
Excellent listener and very good advice and insights on the ups and downs of life. I was very lucky that he was the first person I was paired with on this app. highly recommend.
Doug has been a guiding light for my spacey mind! I exclusively do video chat and we connect so easily the half hour or even hour goes by so fast. He does a great job at asking simple questions to let you flow but then orchestrates it back to the point. Very sensible and professional
Excellent listener and advisor...
I've tried both alternative methods of therapy and a variety of therapists. teen counseling is the best medium for therapy I've come across. Good job guys.
Dr Livingston Quinn (Doc) is not only extremely(!) competent at counselling, he comes across as a very good person. I couldn't be more pleased and I don't know how lucky I got because Doc is my first "pairing" with teencounseling.com, and if I could give ANY constructive feedback, I would, but Doc is yet to under-deliver.
Churr!

My son appreciated that Dr. Quinn made him feel at-ease. He felt he could be himself with Dr.Quinn and that he was respected and listened to. I was grateful for Dr.Quinn’s responsiveness and thorough explanations. Thank you Dr.Quinn and TeenCounseling!
I have very much enjoyed speaking with Dr. Quinn. He is empathetic and supportive, and extremely sensitive to nuance. I feel that I have gained insight into myself, and had very good feedback from him about my situation and my goals. I would recommend him to anyone.
My Doctor has been invaluable to my recovery and continued therapy. This app has been crucial to my life.
