Welcome, and thank you for your interest in learning more about me! My name is Dhara and I am a Licensed Professional Therapist in the state of New Jersey. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I have had 8 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in various settings, such as partial care, intensive outpatient, outpatient, as well as addictions, with clients ranging from children to senior citizens. I have the most experience working with adolescents and families that are learning to cope with mental health disorders, as well as relationship issues, family conflict, school/job stress, and other stressors that are present in daily life. During the majority of my time in the field, I have helped individuals cope with and improve issues related to depression, anxiety, ADHD, impulse control, self-esteem, and communication. I have worked with families as a unit to improve family dynamics. Having a child that struggles with mental illness impacts the entire family. As a result, I have experience working with parents to provide support on how to best manage their child's mental health symptoms.
I believe in using a person-centered approach with my clients to ensure their needs and goals are being addressed. I draw from dialectal behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused counseling, motivational interviewing, and family systems therapy. It can be difficult to reach out for help, especially with the stigma surrounding mental health. I am confident in my ability to help you overcome the obstacles in your life. I would describe my style as supportive, warm, and friendly. I can help you identify goals you would like to work towards and how to achieve them. I look forward to helping you improve the quality of your life.

Dhara is amazing! My daughter has improved so much in a short amount of time. She communicates with me and checks in on my daughter. She has taught her some amazing coping techniques. I’m so happy to have found such an amazing therapist.
Dhara has made it easy for me to open up and talk to her about difficult and even sometimes embarrassing things. My overall mood and methods of dealing with stressors has changed for the better since starting therapy
I feel very comfortable sharing everything.
Dhara is courageous and insightful. She helps you get to the next level with support and wisdom!
Dhara has been kind and supportive while I shared a long and multi-layer backstory and my current situation that brought me to therapy. We have worked around my anxious feelings and strategies to combat them in reality. She has also given me tools to promote effective communication in my relationships.
Dhara was extremely kind and insightful. She made a difference immediately. It was wonderful to work with her!
Dhara is fantastic! I was feeling very lost when we started our sessions. I was having a hard time even expressing what it was I was feeling. She helped me sort everything out and I feel like I make more progress after each session.
I’ve had one video session with Dhara so far and she has been extremely helpful and responsive with me. It is very easy to speak with her and she will check in between our sessions and online chats.
Very understanding and interested in helping and seems to always keep the individual in mind.
Ms. Pandya is a kind, patient and true professional. Her approach with me has been nothing short of superb. She is conscientious with contacting me. And the conversations are always helpful and thought provoking. She is greatly appreciated.
I really like the way she approaches the problem. She gives you the attention that you need and further gives exercises that are very self exploratory.
She's very understanding and patient and listens.
