I earned a PhD in school psychology from Loyola University in Chicago in 1994 and a master's degree from Indiana University in educational psychology in 1989.
I started my career nearly 30 years ago as a school psychologist and worked with children in the Chicago Public schools from 1991 - 1994. I did my residency in clinical psychology in 1995 at St. Therese Medical Center (Waukegan, IL) on a children's psychiatric floor. From 1996 to 2004, I was the clinical director of a youth development program based in Milwaukee, WI. Since 2006, I have continued to work with children, teens, and their families in an outpatient mental health setting.
I focus on building my clients' self-esteem and work with them to develop their skills and acquire tools for positive socialization, anger management, self-motivation, and emotional regulation. I teach young people how to use cognitive-behavioral techniques, and with children who have reached middle school age, I add insight-oriented counseling approaches
I treat everyone with respect and I craft each and every session in a way that addresses each client's specific needs. I’m available for online therapy sessions with individuals anywhere in Wisconsin, in which I am a licensed psychologist, #2581-57.
