Danielle Huggins

About Me

I believe that everybody wants to feel good, be connected, and achieve positive presence and clarity of purpose. I have worked with families and individuals for 10+ years to help remove disturbance from traumatic experiences and unresolved grief that can cloud how we see ourselves and relate to others. I believe in helping individuals integrate experiences in a way that promotes the release of negative emotional/behavioral patterns, fosters new insights and restores a sense of trust in self and world. I believe deeply in each person's capacity to reclaim joy in their lives. I find healing work to be each person's invitation, opportunity and sacred birthright. I am honored to serve in this effort and to help facilitate the deep transformation that is possible for those who choose to empower themselves by receiving therapeutic support.
My specialized training and experience began with very young children and families, working from the foundation of attachment theory to create relationship-based interventions. I complimented this therapeutic orientation with Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) training and certification to further my work processing traumatic and disturbing life events which can disrupt critical relationships. All therapeutic interventions that I employ; cognitive-behavioral, trauma-focused, psychodynamic, are grounded in my belief that people develop and adapt to life based on the quality of their relationships.
Being a teenage can be confusing and intense and I can help with coping skills to manage the high demands of teen life, as well as help teens hone their processes of checking in with themselves and communicating most effectively to set in place good practices and new patterns to get teens where they want to go; feeling good and doing well whilst being and exploring themselves as they enjoy this colorful age and phase of life.

I’d never tried therapy before, and was pretty nervous to even have a conversation, but Danielle was so warm and easy to talk to from the beginning. She’s an amazing listener, but also gives great tools to work through daily challenges, as well as the things that will maybe take a bit more time to break down. I highly recommend Danielle!

Danielle is wonderful with both my Daughter and myself as her parent. My Daughter feels very comfortable confiding in Danielle. I also like how Danielle will reach out to me to touch base and see if I have any concerns

Doctor Huggins is hands down the best counselor I’ve spoken with. She is not only encouraging but also engaging. She breaks things down in an easy to understand way that makes everything I’m feeling and thinking feel justified and normal. I can’t suggest her enough, especially to those who are struggling with trauma.

Work with me!
