I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Arizona. I have been practicing for sixteen years and own a counseling practice in Surprise, AZ. I am also approved as a clinical supervisor in AZ and work with both interns and associate counselors as they pursue degrees in counseling and acquire hours toward independent licensure. I find it very rewarding to help give back to the future generation of mental health practitioners. I am a native of WI but have called AZ my home since 2006.
Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I specialize in individual, couples, and family counseling. I also focus on adolescent and young adult issues and have extensive experience in this area. As a bio-psycho-social-spiritual counselor, I believe in treating the whole person. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance/Commitment Therapy, and Family Systems approach to counseling. Psychotherapy requires an active effort and commitment from the client, this is important in order to most effectively identify areas of concern and desired treatment goals. Counseling is an exploration of deep, personal life issues and areas of one's life that may have been buried for any number of reasons.
If you are ready to reclaim true control in your life or ready to redefine who you are and where you would like to go in life, schedule an appointment with me.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Daniel Bernhardt. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
I loved talking to him. He really understood what I was saying and listened to me.
Great listener. He has been very helpful with me processing through a difficult life situation - loss of relationship. The Lord did plenty of healing as well, but Daniel helped me along the way.
I have confidence in him.
Daniel is a good listener and makes me feel like he understands where I'm coming from and what my goals are. I'm very happy with my sessions with him so far.
Daniel is great. Good listener and very understanding
He is wonderful
Daniel is very compassionate and listens to my needs on every session. I highly recommend him as a therapist (even to my colleagues at work).
Daniel offers the perfect balance of guidance and listening. I feel more powerful to achieve my goals after we talk.
Daniel gives great perspectives and insights. He doesn’t waste time either. He made sure we were working on the root problems together, that he was aware of my expectations and desired outcome of each session. I especially appreciate his persistence in contacting me with technical difficulties such as bad reception. It was becoming a bit redundant. Overall, I appreciate Daniel as my counselor and his expertise!
