About Me
Hello, my name is Courtney Burrus! I am so glad you made the brave decision to get help. Everyone needs help here and there and I am here to offer that to you. I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas. I have 8 years of experience working in private practice setting. For the past 3 years I have been working in hospital settings to assess and provide clinical treatment for individuals. I have worked with a variety of individuals that include depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, mood disorders, personality disorders, relationship issues, and family issues. I have worked with various adolescents going through difficult times.
I believe that we are all unique. I use this principal in counseling. There is not a one sized fits all approach to counseling. I like to provide clients with an individualist approach tailored to your wants, needs, desires, and struggles. Counseling is deeply personal and I want to honor that by providing a safe, warm, and relaxing environment. I use a variety of approaches such as cognitive behavioral, existential, and client-centered to help you become a healthier version of you. Adolesence can be a confusing time period.
We live in uncertain times. I enjoy walking through challenging times with teenagers. It is a joy for me to make them aware that they are not alone in this world. We will walk through whatever life has put in your way together.
I'm so glad that you have taken this important step in your journey. I look forward to working with you!

Courtney is great. She is so easy to talk to and really cares about how I'm doing. I always feel better after our sessions.
Courtney Burris is an outstanding therapist for my teenage son who is 16 years old. She can deal with family issues, help with personal growth challenges and come up with a good game plan which is reasonable and sensible to help my child ascend into becoming a better person and quite the self-reliant and self-confident individual I know my son is. Not only does Courtney address personal and emotional issues as well as, personal growth issues in life for my teenager, she also supports the LGBT community as well, which is important to our family.
I would highly recommend Courtney to any parent who is looking to help their teenager with personal or family issues. Trust in confidence is key in this case.
Courtney has been amazing for us to really improve our relationship
Courtney has been amazingly helpful and is very knowledgeable. She listens well but also provides direct guidance and suggestions. I have found other counselors don't do that. She will take in everything you have to say and respond with her advice and options to better your life. Could not recommend her more highly.
Courtney is great. She listens and understands me. She is easy to talk to.
I have grown and I feel like I am slowly climbing out of the hole.
Courtney has been my favorite out of the many counselors I've worked with. She understands and respects me and my needs, and is always helping me grow and thrive.
Courtney listens to my concerns in a non-judgemental way that makes you feel comfortable to share. She is very easy to talk to and is focused on addressing your core concerns. She is the perfect match for anyone looking for mental health counselling in the areas of anxiety and relationship issues. She merges mental health and faith in a biblical manner, but also offers individualized advice and exercises tailored for every person.
Courtney is amazing. She makes me feel like I'm talking to a friend, but with very good advice and clinical knowledge of how to help me heal.
Courtney is very compassionate about coming up with a resolution to help me deal with my issues at hand. She is extremely responsive and committed to helping me work through my issues
She's considerate, caring, understanding, and kind.
