About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Texas. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have provided services via teletherapy for adults experiencing life transition, parenting issues, grief/loss, difficulty with communication, boundaries, self-confidence, and mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety.
I am not new to teletherapy, I believe that teletherapy can be effective and connecting as much as being in person.
I have worked as a case manager in a non-profit for the homeless population providing services and individualized therapy. I have also worked for a psychiatric hospital providing inpatient group therapy for ages ranging from 15-65. In the past 2 years I have worked with children ranging in ages from 4-18. Working with young adults can be a challenge because it can feel difficult opening up to someone else, but know that I provide a space with no judgement.
To the client:
My role is not to tell you what to do, how to think or what to feel. My role is to help guide you in your journey to your goals. I believe in educating the client on what it is that you may be experiencing so that you are at the forefront of your own treatment plan. I know as a young adult, it can feel as if you are rarely in control of your own life and I would like to help with that experience. I also believe in meeting you where you are and not pushing when you are not ready. Therapy can be a long process but rewarding as well. Through out the process of change, I look to help you reframe how your view your progress and life challenges to help minimize loss of motivation. I feel that there is an importance of building a trusting relationship with each client and creating a safe space. Please know that if you feel you do not know what your goals or expectations out of therapy are, that is okay! Sometimes, we just need a place to talk and process our emotions and thoughts. Know that I will work every step of the way with you in this journey of your life. I look forward to getting to know you!
For the parents: It can be hard to trust someone with your child and feeling left out in what your child is going through. I try to bridge that gap by bringing parents in when needed and providing updates that will be helpful for the child. However, please know that I will not disclose details of our sessions as this can be harmful to the therapeutic relationship. In order to build a strong relationship, I want your child to know that they can trust me when they confide in me. I know that this can difficult and because of that I am more than open in finding a common ground and working together. I look forward to working with you!

I look to collaborates with each client to create an individualized treatment plan based on their needs. My therapeutic modalities include Motivational Interviewing with the Transtheoretical model of change, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Unified Protocol- Adolescents/Children and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as evidence-based interventions.
