About me
Howdy!! I am a trauma-informed Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas. I graduated from the prestigious HBCU Dillard University in New Orleans, LA in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and earned my Master of Social Work degree from the remarkable University of Houston: Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) in 2012. I have training and experience with several treatment modalities and tailor my work to fit the needs of my clients. My experience has given me the opportunity to work with individuals, families, couples, and groups. I have previously worked with juvenile offenders (age 15-17) in a residential facility as a part of a trauma-focused program. I really enjoy working with my younger clients to understand and identify their goals, with emphasis on discovering the power we hold to cultivate and manifest the "impossible" life we would like to live. After all, impossible very simply and truly means I'm possible! I truly believe we all deserve to live our best life and I work diligently with my clients to assist them in the positive change they want and provide the support needed to encourage and foster healthy relationships in all areas of life. My communication style is assertive; encompassing honesty, candor, and A LOT of wit. I thoroughly enjoy sharing the gift I have been granted, which allows me to help others realize we all have the power within us to have the life we want and deserve! I like to enjoy a healthy work/life balance which has given me the opportunity to explore my creative side. I love spending time with my family and friends AND I enjoy my solitude as well. Yes, you CAN do both! My current creative interests lie in drawing, writing, and designing functional tools to aid myself and others in making personal and work projects better organized and more enjoyable

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Cicely Betts. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
We only had a short period of time for my daughter to work with Cicely Betts but she was amazing for that time. She really connected well with my teen. She does not hold punches and will very adamant about telling the truth even if sometimes they don't want to hear it. She really made a difference in my child and I'm sure she can do the same for yours!
Cicely is the first therapist I've had and I feel she's a great fit. She takes the time to listen, calls me out on my nonsense (which I need), and makes great suggestions on how to achieve better results. She is professional but personable. She holds me accountable to take the steps I need to make a change. I would recommend her to anyone.
I am the parent of the teen who talks with Cicely. She is very responsive to me and my concerns and more importantly my teen feels comfortable talking with her.
Cicely has been a great help to me and my partner during a trying time in our relationship. She definitely understands both of our individual needs and struggles and does her best to make sure we have a better understanding of one another with each session. I look forward to our continued sessions with her.
We have been seeing Cicely for about 3 months now for couples therapy, and she is honestly the first therapist I’ve personally seen I feel completely comfortable with. She is so easy to open up to and asks all the right questions to get us to dig deeper and see each other’s perspective. We are constantly recommending this to all our friends now that we’ve worked with Cicely. 10/10!
She is great! Highly recommend!
Cicely is great at listening and responding to me. She makes me feel better and enjoy talking with her each week.
Very confrontational as a therapist but also very accepting 10/10 therapist
Cicely is such a delight. She has given my partner and I such great advice. I'm definitely glad she is our therapist and look forward to our meetings every week.
Everything has gone great since my first session with Cicely
