About Me
Hello, I'm Catrin Glynn, a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas with over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and life coach. Congratulations on taking this brave step in seeking professional help either for yourself or for your teen. It is tough to face the issues your teen may be having head on and admit that you need support. It is even harder to entrust your teen's well-being to a stranger!
I have always had a passion for working with teens. These are difficult years, and in today's society our teens have so many more challenges as they grow and develop. I have worked with teens in a variety of settings including residential treatment centers, psychiatric hospital units, private practice, schools, etc. I have been trained in a variety of techniques that have proven success with teens such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, to name a few.
I have helped teens to successfully navigate issues with regard to interpersonal relationships, healthy expression of emotions, trauma and/or abuse, healthy sexuality, gender orientation, peer pressure and bullying, issues related to the use of technology, coping with grief, loss and divorce and more. I also believe in focusing on character development. All teens need to explore what kind of person they would like to be and have the necessary tools to get there.
I believe in using a holistic approach with teens. I believe that in order to be functioning at our best, we must explore issues of the mind, body and spirit. We are at peace when the mind, body and spirit are all working together in harmony. I have explored and am open to many forms of spirituality. Spirituality helps to foster hope and well-being by acknowledging that which is greater than ourselves (whatever you define that to be). I have also received certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and I am certified to teach spin and TRX classes.
I believe that in order to help a teen remove obstacles to growth and make healthy choices, I must also support the parents. We are not given a rule book for parenting and none of us are born experts. I want to help parents move from feeling like they have "failed" in some way to taking specific actions towards being the best parent they can be.

Catrin Glynn is a wonderful human being that meets me where I am at. No matter how small an issue is, she is patient, positive, while being realistic about out comes and challenges ahead of me.
I feel heard.
Very happy with Catrin.
Catrin has been great! Brings so much clarity to my current life situations
I really enjoy working with Catrin. She is smart, compassionate, and has a little bit of a no-nonsense approach, which I find really valuable as it means she encourages me to grow and isn't just enabling me to stay stuck.
Catrin is great, we feel so lucky to ha e found her as our therapist. She’s very skilled and has been able to work with us on a variety of issues catering to both our individual needs and our needs as a couple. Would definitely recommend!
She has already helped and gave me supporting information that can help me in my daily life.
Thank you for your help so far!
Only 2 sessions into my session with Catrin so far, but already I am feeling far more able to challenge my overactive negative thoughts and to look at them in a more balanced way. Even before that though, just having someone as open and receptive invited me to open up more than I have in a long time and that immediately helps to know that someone is there to listen. Would most definitely recommend Catrin to anyone who asked!
