About Me
Welcome and congratulations to you for taking the first step in helping your child start their healing journey. I am a native Texan and a graduate of the University of North Texas where I received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Soon after, I earned a Master of Arts in Counseling with Honors from Dallas Theological Seminary. Over the past ten years I've had the pleasure of serving children and their families in a variety of different settings such as inpatient hospitals, non-profit organizations, summer camps, churches and private mental health practice. I have led several group therapy programs geared toward teens and their families, including substance abuse prevention and treatment, family dynamics and self-harm prevention. I am passionate about providing holistic therapeutic services in order to help teens reach their optimal functioning as they enter the next chapter of the lives. In session, I utilize techniques based on the Adlerian theory for individual psychology which focuses on the individual as a whole and how he or she responds to their environment. I have experience working with individuals living with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, family conflict, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, self-harming behaviors and aggression.
I believe that therapy for teens because it provides that with a safe place to process difficulties they are facing with an unbiased party. Therapy is not a cure all and will take time and hard work to see desired progress. But I believe that with the right treatment, motivation to change and a strong support system, your teenager can benefit greatly.
With that said, I look forward to starting this journey with you and your family!

Catherine seems to be very understanding and helpful to my daughter.
Catherine is amazing. It's only been a short few months since I started working with her, but I feel like she has helped me improve light years so far. Since she has given me tools to handle my depression, I haven't had a spiral meltdown since I started working with her. She listens intently to everything I say and actually gives me insight as to what is going on and things I can do to improve myself and conquer it. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that needs counseling.
I must change counselors soon, due to a change in location, but I will not forget the steady and God-fearing wisdom of Catherine Richardson. I know that she will tell me what I need to hear and encourage my faith while serving as a rock in a rushing stream to hold onto. A lifeline amidst the turbulence of this sinful world and the sickness that comes with it. All I have to do it reach out and, usually, within a few hours I hear back. I won't ever forget the encouragement and the steadyness that she has brought me. God Bless.
I have been getting so much input and great advice from Catherine Richardson. She listens and understands me so well. I truly respect her and her work!
Great took time to hear my sons issues
When I made the decision to seek assistance, I did not have confidence in it being effective or a good investment of time or money. Fortunately I was wrong on all accounts. Catherine was immediately able to identify the root causes of the problems that were impairing me from functioning one day to the next. By no means has it been an overnight fix, but, I believe now that I can find peace by working with Catherine through my dedication to treatment, faith and Catherine’s professional expertise and heartfelt commitment to seeing me succeed.
