Cassie D'addeo

(LMFT)

About Me

Hi, my name is Cassie D'Addeo, and I have been been a licensed marriage and family therapist for the past nine years, working with teens and adolescence in the school setting, outpatient, and in residential treatment. There are a number of things that make the teenage years unique and sometimes difficult. Some of those things include their technology use, peer pressures they experience, developmental changes, school pressures, and their fight for autonomy. Therapy can be a great resource for teens and their families as they learn to navigate the choppy waters of adolescents.

As a therapist, I work with both families and with teenagers alone. With the family unit, the goals is to rebuild and strengthen communication; negotiate rules, expectations, and consequences; explore healthy boundaries and how they might change as the teen gets older; and help the family move through this developmental phase in a way that promotes a balance between dependence and the teen's growing autonomy. With teens, I work to provide a safe space which allows for them to explore themselves and their decisions without fear of judgement or criticism. My goal is to help them build a sense of self worth and esteem, manage anxiety and/or depressive symptoms, negotiate peer relationships, develop skills that will assist them in reaching future goals, and learn healthy decision making skills. I look forward to working with you on your personal goals.

My son is very happy with Cassie's therapy. We are so glad he finally has a therapist with whom he can connect and confide! :)

Cassie is attentive, resourceful and insightful to me as an individual. I don't feel like a textbook case, but instead Cassie takes the time to hear my individual concerns and needs. Cassie helps explain some of the experiences I have and feedback /tools of how I can move toward my goals. She is very helpful each week, and provides hope and empowerment.

I appreciate Ms. D’addeo’s ability to listen and really take in what I say each time. Even though I communicate with her over messaging she sends a sense of authenticity that I have never had from another therapist. Her recommendations for worksheets are wonderful to really see the core issues in a different light and bring attention to them. It’s been a great experience and I cannot wait to continue!

So far Cassie has been just what I needed. A sounding board and validation of things that I sometimes tend to overlook.

Cassie is keenly aware of what areas of my life need to be focused upon. She has realized quite quickly that changes in perspective are key for me to grow, and also that I am in need of direct, honest, real-life feedback with strategies. She supports my need for coaching in some areas and making connections in others. Sharp, warm, and intuitive.

She is one of the most understanding, kind, and compassionate counselors you could ever have. She's very prompt and professional as well. I'm very glad I was matched to Cassie when I came to teen counseling. She is a professional, but she's also that person you want to have in your real everyday life as a friend. :)

I have been talking to Cassie for a couple of weeks now, and I think she is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I love that she gives me actionable items to complete instead of just the messaging, plus she is very supportive. I definitely recommend her!
