I have been a counselor for five years, I enjoy helping people overcome emotional pain and mental suffering. As anyone with an internet connection who can tell you about depression or what a diagnosis is I would like to help you understand that perhaps maybe that is part of the problem. If I have an unhelpful emotions and I know it is biologically conditioned then I know it can be reconditioned with professional help since we are all hard wired for social connection there is a tendency for the nervous system to cause us to feel emotional pain when we feel helpless . I know this in my gut because when I was clinically depressed I still needed the help of professional counselor to adjust to my own personal pain and suffering.
