I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York. I have 2 years of experience in the field, working primarily with teens and families in both community and in-patient settings.
I believe that therapy is an active partnership. I do not work harder than my clients ; with that said, I distribute my attention, and support so that it is heavier in the beginning of the treatment process, and gradually wanes as my clients learn, practice, and master new skills to support themselves. I also hold my clients accountable to being an active part of the process—the more energy they invest, the more rewarding the outcome will be!
Seeking help can often be the hardest step to take-however, it can be the one of the best gifts!
I look forward to working with you!

Briana is great.
Briana is attentive and empathetic. I'm not perfect. I have tried to listen and work on what we discuss in our sessions, and whenever I don't improve immediately, she meets me with patience and encouragement. I feel more confident in my ability to be introspective and act on what I see because of my sessions with Bri.
Briana Faringer is the most affirming and positive therapist I have seen. Briana really listens and asks insightful questions that inspire thoughtful, transformative inner reflection. Briana creates a safe space, like having a conversation with a long time friend (a long time friend with an expertise in therapy and really good advice) I highly recommend Briana.
Briana is very kind and gentle and I don't feel judged in any way when talking to her. Thank you for the wonderful support!
